Had these cards been 100$ cheaper they would look to be very competitive. The only thing I notice, particulary on the Crysis benchmarks, is there is minimal performance drops when increasing the AA compared to the Nvidia cards.
However without any further reviews/benchmarks, questionable...
Not a bad price....but for a few hundred more you can pick up the Panny 720p set same lumens better CR....
Wouldnt focus so much on the lumens depends on the amount of ambient light. I am using an Optoma HD70 with 1000 lumens (4000:1 CR) in a bright room but on a 120 inch da lite high power...
I know there is a separate thread regarding things but BEWARE........any of the cards that require activation at the register will not work! If they are in the plastic packaging that do not require activation at the register they should be ok.
This has been confirmed on the cheap ass gamer...
Never thought Best Buy would be just as cheap but I picked mine up B&M a few weeks ago 279 + 12% of coupon so was around 250 otd.
As soon as another round of coupons and or sale hits Im gonna pick up another one for SLI.

Got a new power supply....antec 550 sli computer is still turning off when idle. I run vista 64bit....only thing in idle that turns off is the monitor. I ran a sandra stress test passed fine.
My next culprit could be software/vista? Gonna leave my pc in the bios screen...
System temp is 27c
Cpu 32c
Im using a rosewill 500w power supply with fan on auto....had no problems on my last build (however only a single core core athlon 3200 with ati 1900xt vid card)
i did read rosewill can be shady for psu's
im gonna go out and buy a new psu, as i will be...

I am going to make the upgrade to vista...decked my new build out with core duo cpu and 8800gt sli. Mainly for gaming....be honest is vista 64 bit worth the hassle over 32 bit? I ran xp 64 bit for a month or so and had nothing but problems.
Further distressing....i have yet to see any...
Yea I was thinking about that but too many negative things can happen...
Will probably sell it on ebay (or have someone sell it for me haha I dont use ebay so I won't have a user rating)

Haha looks like a have a free projector. Well, I still feel a bit guilty but the fact that I sat on the phone with them for 30 minutes, asking me to fix there problem, I think I will be ok!
So a few weeks ago I bouth the Optoma HD70 projector online then picked it up at the store.
Last week the item was 100$ cheaper and had a free screen, so I went to the store and they changed my receipt date so I could receive the rebate.
Friday I cam home from work and I had a FedEx...
I really dont think people see side by side their 1080p LCD TV compared to a 1024x768 plasma- the pq on the plasma simply blows it away. Even on HD sources the PQ is very nice.
You find me a review of any LCD 37' or higher under 2k(- 1080p, 720p, or 768p) that does not have major issues with...
When I was looking at graphic cards- right now i find the purchase of an x1900gt hard to justify when
1) an x1800xt 256 can be had for approx 220$ with same level performance
2) or an x1800xt 512 for the same price with superior performance
3) an x1900xt 512 for 70-100$ more wich blows...
Yea even top of the line plasmas run at 1024 x 768 frankly the picture is so sharp that you can not see the difference between a 1366x768 lcd side by side. For watching movies/HD content there is no comparison between the 2 - plasma is nice!
However for playing games, etc I like my lcd -...
heh i never got it. I was looking at getting the 1900gt vs the 1800xt and just ended up going with a 1900xt.
althought the prices are pretty good right now on the 1800xt
but do a google search for recent reviews - i did notice the initial ones were the x1800xt 512 ram version they used. I remember seeing a few recent ones where the used the 1800xt 256 version and I believe the 1900gt had better scores in most if not all the benchmarks
This is an odd question- I have a 1900xt running on a viewsonic 1680x1050 monitor
In many games on the left side of the screen and top is a white line about 1 pixel thick. Its not a monitor issue - on my second pc it happens here and there on older games (i have an x850xt with 19 in crt)
i...
Still skeptical on this-
Yea you can flash the BIOS to make it an 1800xt but voids the warranty. Hate to have something go bad in the first month lol. You are also assuming that it has the same Samsung memory- manufacturers swap out memory a lot to save $$$ also supply
20$ more you can...
I will be picking up a 1900xt this week but keep in mind that ATI card'ds are notoriously loud compared to nvidia offerings. But either way each card has its positives and negatives I would say.
LOL looks like we have almost identical specs- your running a 3200+ as well. Im wondering how the fan noise is on the 1900xt. Im using an artic cooling fan/heatsink on my current x800xl- I cant stand case noise.
yea like I said I was gonna go with an 1800xt 512 but decided to just spend the extra $$$ and pick up the 1900xt. Been looking at benchmarks and at my resolution (1680x1050) lot of the games with the 1900 get an extra 10fps or so(with high settings of course) which makes it worth the extra $$$ to me
Im gonna pick up a x1900xt -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102004
was looking into a 7900gt or x1800xt 512 but for an extra 60$ I might as well go with the xt.
My concern is my processor is an athlon 64 3200 (overclocked to 2.25 ghz)
For gaming I will run...
For gaming the 1900 AIW definately takes a big hit especially at the higher resoulutions. Possibly a good deal for an AIW card but for gaming at this price range the 1800xt 512 or even 256 is a better choice.
Price wise right now the 1800xt is a better deal- even the 256mg version of the 1800xt should half better benchmarks.
ATI as stopped production of the 1800xt so prices should even get better. I would hold off on the 1900gt right now- only thing that is hopeful for this card is that there...
He is right the MSRP currently stands at 399$ on the 1900 gt. Right now Best Buy has some deal with ATI and are the only retailers with them from what I see.
However, with the 1900 gt ATI stopped makeing the 1800xt chipsets- hopefully in the next few weeks we will see some nice deals on the...
From what I have seen the results are very similar. Really comes down to brand loyalty- nVida vs ati
However being 60$ cheaper the ati seems to be to be a better buy in this case. Only problem to keep in mind is ati's fans on their cards are horrendously loud so add 20-40$ to the price if you...
