Looking for a cheap digital camera that doesn't suck

Fuji F20. End of story. Nothing else for $100 AR even comes close. Not even close. It blows away $300 - $350 cameras from Canon from image quality department.

    Notebook Sata drives

Hitachi 7k200 (7200rpm, @ 200 gb) Seagate 250gb (5400, @ 250gb) Both are shipping, but only available to Dell/Alienware now. (You can buy the 250gb one from Dell Spare Parts directly though) I'd get the former if SSDs don't come down in price before that thing comes out!

    Improving System Responsiveness

So I just want to get input from some of you experts here. For those of us who run everyday things (such as Itunes, tons of windows for multitasking, Bitcomet in background, AIM, Word/Excel etc), don't encode tons of Divx or run extremely processor demanding applications like Folding @ Home...

    Job interview

Holy Yuck. Some people have no sense of fashion... Anyway, to the OP: As a *Manager*, you want to dress formally. You can decide how formal you want, but you should err on the side of formal, rather than informal. Suit? Check. Tie? Check. Nice pressed Shirt? Check. Nice black dress shoes (or...

    ATi versus nVidia: Pointless Poll

Lol, my bias towards ATI is because I think Red is better than Green. Well anyway, in terms of buying decisions, all things equal (including drivers!), I would buy ATI, but performance determines foremost.. would never buy a equally priced underperforming ATI.

    Folding @ home...

Seems like the the PS3 and the ATI GPUs work so much better, do people actually still use their CPUs to fold? I don't know if this is the case with the other DC clients...

Gamestop, EB, Target and Circuit City to have Nintendo Wii for 4-29-07

Of course. Just like the Gamecube, DS lite etc. Black is more appealing in general, which is why people will buy the Wii for it's other factors first, then buy it again a black one came out.

Dual Boot Problem with Vista ultimate 64 and XP

That is odd... Anyway, Vista does NOT read Boot.ini. You need to use Vista's bootloader to dual boot XP + Vista, you can't use Boot.ini.

Dual Boot Problem with Vista ultimate 64 and XP

Vista doesn't use Boot.ini , it uses a new Bootloader. Download EasyBCD and run it within Vista, and change the Boot config. Alternatively, format your HD, install XP first onto one partition, then Vista onto another. The problem is you installed Vista first.

    Fast Readyboost vs Slow Readyboost

I see. Well I would like to buy that Corsair Turboflash.. except it's only 1GB and dirt ugly. So now I'm looking for a fast 2GB or 4GB stick to use. I already have a Sandisk Cruzer Micro that works with Readyboost... but I'm not really sure how fast it is... this is what Event Viewer gives me...

    Vista Color Profiles... ruining Photoshop

Ah, nvm I discovered that Windows Update added a custom color profile to my Dell monitor... which screwed up the color settings in select programs. I removed the profile and now all is well. I guess if anyone else has this problem, this can be a lesson :) Moving along...

    Vista Color Profiles... ruining Photoshop

I don't know if I should post it here or on Video (But I suspect many people on Video forums are still running XP). But anyway, I've had the same problem with Vista 32 and now Vista 64, and I've heard others complain about it too.. Basically, Windows Photo Gallery is not showing correct...

    Vista/IE7

Are you running 64 bit? Flash doesn't work on 64 bit IE or 64 bit Firefox unfortunately. Installing flash on 64 bit Windows is also a little bit of extra work. This should also work on 32 bit Vista as well.. C:>Right Click>Explore>Windows>System 32>Macromed Run the file Flashutil9B as...

    Vista 64 Business FLIES

I was running 32 bit Vista Business for the past month, and have been noticing alot of slowdowns in my start menu. I'm on a loaded laptop with 2.0 Core 2 Duo, 1.5 gb ram, 7200 rpm HD, and dedicated Mobility X1700. Needless to say, it was unacceptable, and I was at a loss as to why the start menu...

    Vista start menu lag....

Guys I found a fix... Install Vista 64 bit! Oh my god... this thing FLIES compared to 32 bit. I am absolutely shocked, to be honest. It boots up a bit slower but literally everything is faster. Internet Explorer 64 bit (and 32 bit) loads pages INSTANTANEOUSLY... that is just insane. I'm...

    Vista start menu lag....

I still can't figure this out, have done various reformat and reinstalls, and it seems to come down to be a Vista problem. A fresh install of Vista has a very responsive start menu, but as I install more and more things, the start menu slows down! Specifically, it is the All programs menu...

Do I need more RAM? Running Vista 32 on 1.5GB ram

2GB would be the max I could go, since 2GB sticks for laptops are insanely expensive. Would a faster processor help anything at all? I mean I know it will speed up decompressing, encoding, file conversions, and what not, but I'm not too concerned about those things since I don't really do...

What kind of pc can I get for $400 ?

You might as well get a laptop and get more use out of it. It would be incapable of playing games however... A used one is easily obtainable for about $400 with some pretty decent specs.

Need help picking a digital camera!

At this point, I wouldn't consider anything but the SD800IS... which is a bit outside your price range. BUT, it has Image Stabilization and wide angle lense (28mm). That plus good photo quality, and overall operation makes it very nice. It goes for about $350 USD = $400 ish CDN? I would spend...

Need help picking a digital camera!

First off, CMOS and CCD are squared now. No need to bother seeing whether the camera your looking at is CCD or CMOS. Second, there are different classes of cameras, including the Ultra compact, compact, Super Zooms, Compact super zooms, wide angles, Digital SLRS etc. There are very good ones...

    Southbridge drivers? Northbridge filter drivers?

Well thats the thing, I have a feeling there is NO support for the Xpress 200M , or SB400 on Vista from ATI. I'm fairly certain if I tried this on an XP install, it would be just fine. Did you install the drivers for XP or Vista and was it for the Xpress 200M chipset?

    Southbridge drivers? Northbridge filter drivers?

Well I reinstalled using Vista Business, instead of Vista Basic that came with it, and on my HD (7200 rpm) as well. ATI is supposed to support the IGP... thats fairly obvious, but because its Vista and the Xpress 200M is getting old, I guess they just don't. I did install everything on...
