IT'S BACK 24" Soyo LCD for $299. @ Office Max is back

I had the red sparkles early on with the Soyo (powering off and on would always fix it), but I actually haven't seen any sparkles in a month. I made two changes since the sparkles: switched DVI cables and switched (downgraded, don't ask) from an X1950XT to a 7600GT. Not sure which was the key...

IT'S BACK 24" Soyo LCD for $299. @ Office Max is back

RossMAN, I happen to be using that exact card with both this 24" Soyo and a 17" second monitor. Works flawlessly, and I really love the Soyo, it's a terrific deal.

No sparkling, cytoSiN, the monitor appears perfect. Using an X1950XT.

IT'S BACK 24" Soyo LCD for $299. @ Office Max is back

Saw this deal here on the forums and took the plunge - glad I did. Although I've only been using it for a few hours, it looks great: no dead pixels as far as I can see, no buzzing (yet), image is stellar. Really fast shipping, too.

    Wall mountable 2.0 speakers

Anyone aware of any wall-mountable or under-cabinet 2.0 powered speakers? Would like to spend $50 or less, and the smaller the power brick, the better.

    Processor Technology Vs. 3d Rendering

I'm also looking for a great rendering solution, slightly different scenario. I'll be rendering using Mental Ray standalone, which seems to offer 32 and 64-bit versions, Windows XP, x64, and Linux. I was thinking Woodcrest would be the way to go, but I just ran into some benchmarks that pit a...

Any good trusty US online store will do assembling?

Years ago, I had a PC built by KC Computers. I build all my machines now, but I'd go back to KC in a second if I needed someone else to build for me. Read up on them at resellerratings - nothing but rave reviews.

    Does this notebook exist?

Killer. Thanks, roadkill! The voodoo is expensive, but gives me hope that other co's (eg Sager) will soon have their own counterparts.

    Does this notebook exist?

Wondering if anyone knows if there's a notebook out there that combines an Athlon 64, 17" monitor (1920 x 1200 would be awesome), and a Geforce 6800 (U)? My quick research has only yielded A64 notebooks with Radeon cards.

My FSB won't go above 230 *help*

Taejin, I'm a newbie myself who's using some of the same components as you - same mobo and CPU. I was able to get up to 270 FSB, and it seemed like voltages made a big difference. You might try the settings I'm using: First, load default BIOS settings ("Optimized"). Set RAM to 1:2, CPU...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

Let's see if I can recall correctly - I don't think I was able to get Windows to boot using 4 sticks of the Value VX unless I used the lowest memory divider - 100 - at stock timings (maybe it was unstable even then?). I'm probably fuzzy on the math/logic - i.e. if I was using 269 FSB with a 100...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

Yup, michael, I've come to terms with the fact that if I want 2GB, I won't be able to do much with the memory. I'm ready to use a divider, loose timings, etc., as long as I can maintain a pretty fair CPU overclock. So what's my solution, if I'd like to try and maintain my 270 FSB? 2 sticks...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

Emultra - sorry, no idea - where can I find this? GuitarDaddy - excellent info, thanks. I should've guessed that packing 4 sticks in at such a high voltage would create some heat issues. So I think my plan to use 2GB of the Value VX may not be ideal. I'm thinking I should RMA it. So my...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

Concillian (thanks for the reply) - I tried one pair of sticks in both pairs of slots. I have a couple of ?s about this: first, do I need to test all 4 sticks this way if I've tested each individually and they seem fine individually? Second, I noticed when I tried to boot using just slots 1...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

John, thanks - I tried those timings, got into XP for minute, then reboot. I'm trying to learn what's going on here. Why can't I even get 2 sticks to work at slightly aggressive timings, let alone 4? Any ideas as to a) what settings I would use for 2 sticks and b) what is happening when I go...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

Thanks for replying, oldie - as I noted, I've got CPC set to Disabled (ie 2T) so I assume this is not the problem. By the way, I'm even having trouble with using just 2 sticks of this RAM (either at 1T or 2T) - I only seem to be able to run the memory at its stock timings or higher one...

    New overclocker using 2GB RAM

Hi there. I'm really new to overclocking, and I'm having problems with the settings for my RAM, and I was hoping for some suggestions! I'm not a gamer, so I don't need to squeeze every last bit out of my components, but I'd like to get a decent overall speed increase. Here's the key parts to...
