    2900 XT lacks a UVD

It's retarded to link this situation to the HDCP fiasco since they then actually wrongly mentioned non-HDCP cards as supporting it - while it's now a misconception by some AIBs and quite a few media outlets since they never actually said that the HD2900 XT has UVD (e.g. listed the ones...

how big of a monitor is enough? (with poll)

My 8800 GTX is reaching its limit at 1680x1050 (20.1") in the latest games so a 24" would be too large.

    2900 XT lacks a UVD

Er, the driver used don't support decode acceleration - 8.38 will be the first. I smell BS. http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1009569&postcount=3

Gecube launches "fastest" AGP, DX10 board to come

The regular X1950 XT 256MB (625/1800) is pretty equal a 1900 XT 512MB in performance, thus this card should "only" be slightly faster due to 23MHz higher core frequency - also remember that the X1950 XTX has 200 MHz higher memory frequency. Still the fastest card for the AGP folks! Edit...

Thanks! I will try, and yes, use the guide at Futuremark. Those 25 MHz and 100 MHz results in a improved fillrate of 0.4 GPixel/s and memory bandwith 3.2 GB/s - it's a bit faster. It's true that in reviews the difference between XT and XTX aren't large. When I rank cards it's to show the...

Thanks for the graphs, although this isn't something new to me. Hardware accelerated encoding is for me more interesting to know more about. I might include them (credited of course) since it shows the benefit of hardware accelerated decoding so clearly.

Source (I don't know if the newer DVC 3.0 is actually hardware based though). I'm humble about what I have written about encoding as previously stated. Can you provide information to confirm actual hardware enconding acceleration.
