Hi everybody,
I have a sunbeam silent whisper cooler for a overclocked 6300 @ 2.8 GHz and 1.2875 volts. I'm currently cooling it with a sunbeam silent whisper, which worked fine. But after removing the cooler once, now the push-pin doesn't seem to be doing its job. I can feel the cooler...
Yes... you should also mow my lawn and wash my car and live a good life...
p.s. whatever happened to compression backup's? single layer is so much cheaper... You really don't lose much...
this board seems to be a better version of DS3. Can owners comment on OC ability?
In particular, I'm interested in the ability to reach 400 MHz with a 6300/6400 on FSB while running 1:1. The ICH8R inclusion is amazing...
LOL we had the same reaction. There's also one which can be found by searching mg-35. Another one is called tvisto 3500. These all support "HD". There's also ones that mention nothing about HD. Some of these have ethernet ports so you can transfer files using that or watch something on the...
have you tried resetting the CMOS? Take out the backup battery on your mobo and wait for couple of minutes before putting it back in. That may help solve the problem. You can also use the reset jumper if you want.

To the wise,
Just by accident, I discovered there are such devices as external enclosures that can output divx/mpg/mp3 directly to a tv. But I'm completely clueless as to what my options are... Can you guys recommend anything?
I would like something from somebody reputable so that I get...
There's a few posts in the DS3 official thread about this. Basically you have two chioces:
1. don't use sata ahci or raid mode
- put your sata drives on the yellow intel sata ports
- don't enable AHCI (for f10 only)
- don't enable AHCI for on board sata devices (this controls the purple...
Doesn't your firestix have D9 chips? Why is it struggling to 4-4-4-15 at below it's DDR 800 specification? Is your memory multiplier set correctly? i.e. it's not on auto but on 2.00?
they meant purple...
If you are not going to run raid, then just leave it on intel's ports (orange).
Since you have a raptor, just leave it there and get couple of more drives to run raid 0 on the purple ports...
I agree... hot would mean good conductivity. Your picture is not working though...
I wanted to hot glue this thing to the board... but I'm not sure how hot it gets maybe that will melt the glue... I thought about screw but I can't get a good spot to apply the screw...
Does anybody have any experience with removing the NB heatsink on DS3? I see a pin holding it in but I don't know if I want to mess with it. I would like to take it off put on some as5, and also strap a fan to it before reattaching it. But i don't want to mess with it unless I can put it back on...
Are you sure your memory multiplier is set correctly? If you set it to 2.5 then your board will refuse to boot when your FSB is too high (which is not high at all). You need to set this thing to 2.00 (or 1:1).
I don't know how memory multiplier works on your P5B-e. Did you check whether you have set the memory multiplier to 1:1. If you're memory multiplier is not 1:1, 350 would mean you are running your memory at something ridiculous (instead of 700 as it should be)...
any of these cheaper tower coolers will do it:
1. sunbeam (yes sunbeam) cr-sw < $20
2. arctic freezer < $25 occasionally
3. some of the tower cooler by Rosewill (note I didn't say made by...) ~was 25 on NE
These are all good coolers...
if your case don't have a side air vent, i would...
The ram will work with your DS3. It will boot at 1.8v at 5-5-5-15... but for tight timing, you need to raise the voltage to the specified (2.0 v is the same as +0.2)
6300 should be ocable to 2.8 GHz really easily. have your memory do 1:1 and raise fsb to 400. You should get away with not...
The burst speed thing is pretty much bullsh*t. It's better to look at the sustained transfer rate. Just to give you an example, i'm running RAID 0 with my two WDC 250 GB drives. The burst speed according to HDTACH is 1600 to 2000 MB/s. It shows burst speed is not a good mark at all.
Your...
Are you OCing with your old bios? The right procedure for flashing is:
1. flash with @bios
2. clear bios by shorting that contact
3. start bios setup reload default (you can do optimal defaults)
4. Change the setup to what your old setup is. You might not be able to jump directly as...
60 to 85 C? Your heatsink is not installed right. If you are using the push-pin heatsink, you need to push those allllll the way done until you can see all 4 stick out the other end. So you need to take your mobo out of chasis and do this installation...
yes the sunbeam cr-sw is 775 compatible. There's actually one for AMD as well. Note that the installation method is EXACTLY the same as the stock. That means you better take your motherboard out of the case before pushing those pins otherwise you risk breaking the board.
