    Battlefield 3: Premium. $42.75

I'll second this - I hate the Operation Metro map and was afraid the Close Quarters expansion would be more of that but the CQ maps are all very well designed with no chokepoints and many, many flanking opportunities.

Consumer Alert - Buy Hard Drives Now. Prices To Rise.

Holy hell. I bought this Samsung 2 TB drive for $79 back in May. It's $229 now. :( I guess I'll wait to build that RAID...

    Intel X25-M Gen. 2 IN STOCK ($235)

I got an email from Newegg yesterday saying they were instock but they were sold out by the time I got there. They also raised the price from $229 to $249. And it looks like Cost Central is sold out already at $341

    Worst Experience Ever

I'm not a cell support specialist or anything but how hard could it be to just block the IMEI of the stolen phone from the network? Even blocking the SIM card would prevent the thief from using your plan but it seems like blocking the IMEI completely would weed out the scammers pretty quickly.

    News on the Hybrid front

You do realize that you're less safe driving an SUV due to the increased risk of rollover accidents, right? And that your land-barge is far more likely to kill any pedestrian it strikes as well as increasing the danger for any other drive unfortnate enough to be hit by it. The "SUV=Safety"...

It's hard to turn a profit owning a gas station

Let's say you need gas and you know you can get it at CostCo. If you stop at CostCo for gas, do you think you might be tempted to run in "just for one quick thing?" The gas station is a way to draw people to the store. And I'm sure it works, otherwise they wouldn't have gas stations...

    Stopped PC gaming...

I've upgraded my PC twice in the past 6 years. I've yet to run into a game I can't play on my current "behind the times" PC. If you're trying to run everything on a 24" LCD at super-high resolutions then yea, you're going to need to upgrade. If you don't always need to run high-res at...

Demand for illegal immigrant labor about to get higher

Oregon's minimum wage has been that high for at least a year. Somehow employers are able to stay in business without having to resort to paying illegals under-the-counter.

President Bush says we ought to listen to Osama bin Laden

Wait - so Ron Paul suggests we should seek to understand those who wish to do us harm and he's viciously attacked. Bush says we should listen to OBL and he's praised? It's a strange world. FWIW, they're both right. We cannot win the "War on Terror" if we dont even understand who and...

Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter gives birth

Well, that and the tax break. And the inheritance rights, visitation rights, etc. etc. etc. As a straight couple you're unlikely to be denied access to your gf should she be hospitalized - but there are countless stories of gay couples being separated in that sort of situation.

    WTF

Do they get in-state tuition AFTER they've gone back to their home country, applied for entry and paid their fines or do they get it as soon as the bill becomes law? Because the first is fine - at that point they're citizens like anyone else - while the second is a bunch of crap.

Sticking it out with a company for years versus going from job to job

I stuck with one company for 7 years. Until the layoffs came. Employers have no loyalty. Why should employees? I say take the job.

    MPAA lobbying

Defing "lobbying". If I write my Congressman asking him to vote against the immigration bill, am I lobbying? Bribery is already illegal. I believe there are already extensive guidelines on what sorts of gifts elected officials can accept.

Are you happy with your system?

I'm pretty happy with my machine. I started researched parts in early 2006 and built it last March as a cheap upgrade to my aging P4. It's an AMD S939 3200+, 2 GB of PC3200 and a 7600GT. The RAM and hard drives were gifts/hand-me-downs so I only spent money on the CPU, video card and case...

(IT Field) How do I get my foot in the door?

I've found certs mean little compared to experience. Right now I'm working a HelpDesk job with only a CIS associates degree and no certs whatsoever- but I've got 6 years of industry experience. I've toyed with getting the A+ cert - is the general consensus that it's a waste of time?

Does this make me an a$$hole?

You have no obligation to these people. The nice thing to do would be to tell them why you're not returning their calls but that's it. So, of course, I voted "Impeach Bush". Something kinda similar happened to me when I was home on summer break from college. An old childhood friend that...

Different price for credit and cash?

Arco's in Oregon do this as well and it's a PITA. Oregon doesn't allow self-serve gas so most of the time you can just pull up to the pump, hand the guy your card and get a fillup without ever leaving your vehicle. At an ARCO you have to go inside and wait behind everyone buying cigarettes...

Bush announces support of 120 billion Iraq funding bill.

I haven't seen 2008 in any of the news articles I've read - they all just say "through September." I heard a discussion on NPR about this bill and how it would just mean another fight this September over Iraq.

Josh Hancock was drunk, speeding, talking to GF while driving

As a Royals fan I have a duty to hate the freaking Cardinals. This makes me hate them that much more. The person who "contributed to the untimely death of your son" was the moron who decided to get behind the wheel while drunk and high.

VOTE: Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?

What evidence? I think you can rightly claim that the Administration overplayed the available intel (and made Powell look like a fool at the U.N.) but evidence that they simply made up intelligence? I haven't seen any.
