Bad experience at Circuit City, LN-T4061F

It's unfortunate but you really should have just taken your money and left. They were up front about it and offered an alternative which you knew was unsatisfactory so there was no further need for discussions. A higher end model for the same price? These aren't steaks they're selling, they are...

    WD RAPTOR

Depends on two main things. Money and your actual storage needs. Of course price comes into play first and foremost and if you are on a budget, bigger HDD's with new technology are the better buy. However, if you don't use very much space to begin with, why not get a Raptor? I myself could cram...

anyone seen the new 120hz "motion" TV's?

I personally don't like it from what I've seen but if I were in the market, I'd get it just in case. I watched Transformers with it and the best explanation I can come up with is it looks like a very clean daytime soap opera if that makes any sense.

Looking to replace front 3 - updated OP

If it were me, I would look at saturdayaudio.com and pick up a pair of the Monitor Audio B1/B2 or the PSB Image B15/B25 as they are all far superior to the Polks. Doesn't leave you much room for a center but I think they more than make up for it.

so i paid for my purchase at amazon on 1/3/08 and still dont have my Senn Hd555's

The HD555's are a great pair of headphones and quite comfortable to boot. On the topic of Amazon/USPS shipping and tracking, USPS doesn't normally do tracking updates from my experience. It goes straight from picked up to dropped off and nothing in between. Regarding the volume, whoever is...

Using alt memory sots on P5E instead of Primary

It will work fine in slots 2 and 4. If you're lucky, and it's like my P5K, slots 2 and 4 actually offer better performance and stability.

    Harddrive failure rates

First of all, don't take Newegg reviews very seriously as anyone can go in and write whatever they want. Second, if it is for a serious business, you really should be looking at SCSI drives and the like as that is what they are made for. Finally, I haven't heard of a particular size...

    Crucial 2GB kit (1GBx2) Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804 $49.99 No Rebate

Granted I haven't kept up with memory since I haven't had a need to buy any recently so you may be right but I dont think so. D9's are the only chips that realistically need 2.2V so unless Crucial wants you to really overvolt some third party OEM chips, I have no reason to believe that these...

    So... CoD 4

As great as it is, the SP is far too easy to get through even on Veteran save for a few parts but those are far and few between. Kill a few, nade the area, run forward, then kill the slackers. MP is truly fantastic although grinding out some of the higher levels can be a bit tedious. Fastest...

Setting up the beginnings of a new HT setup

Thanks for all the responses. So I'm leaning towards the Onkyo 605 and the BA CR67's for now. However, I know the CR67's are a little underpowered to be permanent fronts so do you think down the road they would be reasonable rears or would they need replacing down the road?

Setting up the beginnings of a new HT setup

I recently bought a 50" Samsung 1080P DLP along with the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player and the picture is spectacular. However the sound is horrible so I figured I might try my hand in getting a modest HT setup. But I dont know just how long I'll be staying in my current place and my girlfriend is...

Heatpipes in a reverse ATX case?

I've been trying to find an answer to this question but a concrete answer is impossible to find. I've heard that there are wicks in the heatpipes that cause them to operate normally no matter the orientation. But I've also heard that not all heatpipes have them so reversing the orientation would...

SMOKING!! - Logitech diNovo Edge $79.99 @ Best Buy

I hope you're not talking about the G51's because those are much more closely related to the X series rather than the Z series speakers. On topic, the diNovo Edge is a great keyboard and $79.99 is a decent price for it considering the price of a standard wireless keyboard.

Am I losing interest in video games?

I do believe it is the games themselves and not the gamers that is causing the boredom. Iifeel the exact same way with tons of games that I bought but couldn't bring myself to finish. However, every so often, a real gem comes down the pipe and I find myself playing them with as much excitement...

Weird problem with my new router

I just picked up a WRT150N and am pretty satisfied with it so far. It's wired to my desktop with Vista Home Premium and my girlfriend's laptop is connected through Wireless G running XP Home. However, I have a weird problem in that when I connect the laptop wirelessly, I get "Little to No...

Are publisher trying to force peope into the 360 editions of their games?

VIAN, you are overlooking the fact that unless the game is strictly linear, there is a lot of redundancy on a multi-disc game which leads to a lot of lost storage space. So essentially all free-roaming games would be very difficult to do on a multi-disc DVD edition as opposed to 1 Blu-Ray.

LGA 775 HSF - Push pins or screws? Which is better?

For a system from scratch, either is fine with pins being fine for most HSF's out there. Just remember to read the instructions if you use a HSF with push pins. If adding one to an already built system, screws become a little more of a hassle because they usually require a backplate and the...

Problem with CS:S Source on new PC

I recently built a new rig with an E6400, 2GB Ballistix DDR2-800, Asus P5K Deluxe, EVGA 7900GS, etc. It runs Company of Heroes, Call of Duty 2, and Medieval Total War II perfectly however when I play CS:S, every 20-30 seconds the game seems to freeze for a second or two and then resumes like...

Need help with getting out of sleep

I built a new PC for myself with a P5K Deluxe, 2GB Crucial Ballistix, E6400, eVGA 7900GS, and Vista Home Premium and so far it has been working out great. However, occasionally, if I let the the computer sleep or go idle for a long time, it won't let me restart normally. I move the mouse or...

    Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-800 (PC2-6400)

With the lower speed sticks, it is impossible to know which modules you will get. If you buy say the 1066, then you know for sure they are D9GMH's as they are handpicked.

Why dont TV manufacturers cater to videophiles/tweakers?

It would simply be bad economics to do so. TV's from the same company essentially have the same settings/menu options because it is more efficient and profitable to keep them that way rather than develop special coding and engineering for a "videophile" TV.

EnzoTech Ultra-X - no Payola, No Review?

Figured I'd throw my 2 cents in this little argument. While true of general physics and mechanics, this isn't exactly right. It's a fact that heat rises but in the confined space of a typical computer case, the case fans and assorted other fans in the case are more than enough to overcome this...

Asus P5K Deluxe Disaster - really need some help...

P5K Deluxe - completed build - update with pics

Looks good. I have the same board with some Crucial Ballistix and couldn't be happier. My only gripe is with the placement of the IDE slot. Sucks to hear about the poor quality case. I was actually thinking about getting one of those until I saw one at Fry's and saw that it wasn't very good...

What else can i do to cool my pc?

I believe the problem might be airflow in your case. 2 80mm fans at 1000RPM isn't going to be moving very much air.

    ASUS P5K Deluxe

I've had the P5K Deluxe for about a week now with an Ultra-120 and it fits fine. Great board with the 0304 BIOS. Got it up to 450Mhz very easily but backed it down as it has been heating up where I live so the temps were getting a little high for my tastes. Only gripe is the location of the IDE...

Need memory help with first real OC

My setup is an E6400, 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-667, Asus P5K Deluxe, stock cooling, and an Antec NeoHE 550W. So far, everything is stable at 2.66Ghz with my CPU and RAM both at 333Mhz while I'm sort of feeling my way through. However, in CPU-Z, my RAM timings and speeds are all messed up with...

Hardocp's Bottom Line On The P35

That conclusion from Hardocp is pretty dumb. As of now, for a new system, there is no reason to go P965 as a comparable P35 board can be had for $20-$40 more which is no big deal. Newer chipset, new SB, new memory controller, and support for 45nm chips is a great deal.

    4-pin or 8-pin CPU plug?

    Come on, Abit

I think Abit fired their BIOS engineers. They keep pumping new motherboards but their BIOS'es are always immature and new BIOS'es are never released. It's sad because I genreally like their boards and their layouts are always good.

    ASUS P5K Deluxe

I bit and picked up an Asus P5K Deluxe and couldnt be happier. It's a great board and the extra $40 or so over the P5B Deluxe is well worth it IMO.

P35 MATX motherboard that oc's well

That is very promising however sort of redundant IMO. I would only put a mATX board in an HTPC or the like where getting high OC's isnt really necessary and would only create excess heat. However it's still nice to know there are options available.

    *** Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD ***

I've had the board for a little over a week. At stock, everything runs great and it auto detected everything during initial boot including my Patriot PC2-6400 and 2 HDD's. Finally got an 8600GT to put in it and bumped my CPU up to 333MHz on stock and it is Orthos stable.
