hmm..well before I added this update to my XP machine neither PC could see each other. I added the update and Bam they saw each other immediately. I mean i watched the XP machine appear on my Vista machine right as it happend and this wasnt even the network map, it was the actual tab that lists...
I have an XP and a Vista Home Premuim MAchine..they both see the router, but not each other. Everything is set to share, Workgroup names are the same..i cant figure it out for the life of me.
Ehh 1gb of 3200..hmm Im not sure how that would fare. What you can do if you havent already is download the Vista Upgrade Advisor Here and install it. It will basically rate your PC for you.
I would think Vista would eat 1gb of 3200 up pretty quickly, you would need to disable the gadgets...
PLease contact the seller the first. I hate people who automatically go to Ebay or Pay pal without first informing the seller of the problem and giving them a chance to fix it.
IF the seller wont work with you, then go to Ebay and Paypal (assuming you paid with Paypal)
But please...
I would do that as well except I have my Xbox360 plugged into the VGA on my LCD. SO having a DVI swtich would be bonus..but it was by far cheaper jsut to have 2 full pc's set up and networked.
I think Vista is having issue identifying/working with some Vid cards on this board. I have an ati radeon 1950pro 512mb on my bad axe 2 and i get a 1.0 on my graphics score lol. That would be my guess anyway, ive only been using Vista a few days now and thats kinda what ive run across.
I heard Microcenter has been slow to deliver on their BX2's..i bought mine from the egg. It was $240, (higher than MicroCenter $179 i think) but it got here fast with no messing around.
I will start building tonight or in the morning assuming we dont get tornado's in OKC tonight.
IMO, For what they are, any 2 port switch over $60 is highway robbery. It just pisses me off that you can get a nice 2port VGA for $45 but for the same thing with DVI instead its $249, what a joke. These things should not cost as much as your monitor or Video card. Especially since most Vid...
So using this logic i can buy whatever I want, Run it over with a bulldozer and then complain i recieved the item flat as a pancake and in non-working order and Paypal will refund my money. Excellent.
I just bought an e6400 for my build. Not sure that 1 more multi and 2MB more of L2 is worth $100 extra bucks right now- and i seriously doubt how much impact to performance you would see with todays apps...so i got the cheapee and will look to upgrade that over the summer.
are we sure all 3 of the HD's are good? All it takes is for one to be bad in a raid config like that.
Im sure between AT and xtreme systems we can figure this out.
I was going the the same thing as the OP , Here is what I did - I decided to just go with Vista Home Prem 32 OEM for now. Its only $119. It gives me a good chance to get familiar with Vista and then a few months down the road, when things smooth out I will grab Vista Ultimate 64 retail.
It...
I cant decide on ram for this board either. I have been an avid Corsair user, but it seems they have taken a nose dive somewhat. These mushkin sticks above are very very appealing. I dont really plan to OC too much I may just give it a tick or two, so I really am looking for Ram that is stable...
Moduslink is probably just a Multi operations Call center that won the bidding war for this job. Im sure the phone reps got little training if any on this project.
It seems the 64 issues on the Badaxe 2 are hit and miss at that..ive seen some with probs, and some that fired right up.
Darn it we need a Bad Axe2 thread, i know i will need one when I build mine in a few weeks.
I found this tidbit in another thread
"The X-fi is fully supported (including all version of EAX) in games using the OpenAL sound API, even in Vista. Creative also makes a wrapper called ALchemy for older games that require direct sound. "
so There ya go..get the card
Okay I see whats going on
The P5N32-E SLI Plus is A hybrid of the 650i and the nforce 570. I know nothing about this boarda and this is the first ive heard of it.
The 650i thats been out is this:
P5N-E SLI
the one your looking at is a just released, if even released at all board...
Good luck to ya..680i is about as far from stable as you can get. Asus would have the slightly more stable one over the eVga..so you picked the lesser of 2 evils I suppose..lol.
