The Unofficial ASUS P5N-E SLI 650i Board Thread

I would definatly update the bios, and get the new heatsink. Faster memory cant compete with a larger overclock (unless your memory is a severe bottle neck.). I have the same processor except in in Xeon trim. (It was 2 bucks more and I bought it on a whim.) I tried overclocking in small...

Would telepathy be bound by the speed of light?

We will have to find two telepaths and test it... hmmm would have to put one on the moon so that reaction time wouldnt be as big a factor... More important question. Whats the bandwidth like?

It seems subjectivity is incoherent... attack this argument!

By the definitions set above: Relating to the English language, thought=idea=image, formation of which is inherited in the concept of imagination= therefore is imaginary=unreal=not real. The physical substance exists. But the definition of thought only includes the subjective. This is by no...

It seems subjectivity is incoherent... attack this argument!

Subjective: of or resulting from the feelings of the person thinking; not objective: personal> Websters Dictionary. .. Probably should have used a more impressive one like Oxfords. Objective: 1. existing as an object or fact, independent of the mind; real. 2, concerned with the realities of...

It seems subjectivity is incoherent... attack this argument!

xt3 I have to disagree with you again. I said that thoughts are not real. I also said you can detect things that do not exist. The comparison between a computer monitor displaying a hallucinagenic image and an actual hallucination is also not a valid comparison. Who is that guy? He sounds...

It seems subjectivity is incoherent... attack this argument!

BTW you can detect things that are not there. Happens all the time. Typically called a hallucination. Research in neuroscience has demonstrated that perception only has a superficial congruency to reality. However since you have no way of detecting actual reality. One must assume that the...

It seems subjectivity is incoherent... attack this argument!

Thoughts are not real. You can under your own volition cease a thought. Conservation of mass would therefore dictate that thoughts are not physical entities but a collection of relationships and orientations of electrical patterns in your cortex. Any orgainization is as good as anyother so...

    nVidia GT200 Series Review Thread

Sorry for second post. It seems that the HD4xxx is a series that is particularly aimed at Sli market share since the typically prohibitive cost (for us poor people who are pained by dropping $650 on anything) of switching is neutralized.

    nVidia GT200 Series Review Thread

I concur with the price point. I feel that the 280 and especially the 260 are poorly priced as now (not that you could buy a 260 now if you wanted to). The prospect (imagined or real) of 2xHD4850 $400 defeating GTX280 $649 is a tempting one even for those who have Sli enabled MB. You can get a...

Can you remove 2 cells from an 8 cell laptop battery and have it function off of the remaining 6?

Do you consider thought to be a 100% physical manifestation?

Back to the main question... is thought a 100% physical manifistation? This question steps on a lot of idealogical toes and is impossible to answer without a consensus on the opperative definitions of "thought" and "physical". I wont touch that debate. I also will not touch the debate...
