No I can't. I am just basing it off of seeing a lot of other people on these forums always asking about firmware to fix seagate drives. I am hoping there are no issues since I have a lot of photography images stored on a 1TB Seagate.
I am curious about the real feel performance difference on HD's for OS and Aps.
Do you honestly notice a difference between the different drives? I know something like a velociraptor will make a difference, but difference between drives like a WD Caviar Black or Seagate 7000.11 etc.? I am...
I need to rebuild a new PC for my daughters old P4 prescott. I am thinking of going E8400 and Asus P5QE, but by the time I add in PS, memory and video card I am close to the cost of getting a decent dell from the outlet store. This is for my daughter for mostly school stuff and some games.
Thanks. I am running Vista 64 bit business with 4g of ram and a couple internal raptor drives. It sounds like the CPU swap might not be worth the hassle. I don't overclock.
I have a Core2 6700 on a P5Bdelux on my photography business PC. I need to do a new build for my daughter and I was thinking of getting a new MB and giving here the 6700 and getting a Quad core for my business/photoshop PC. Forgive my noob question, but if I just swap my core2 duo with a new...
I reconfig'd the Bios to cinfigure SATA HDD's as IDE instead of AHCI and reloaded windows Vista 64 and all is fine after 2 days. I also loaded Vista with 2g of ram and did all the updates and then added the other 2g of ram. I read on here somewhere that some people had problems with 4 and...
I was just on the phone with Asus. They said I should have set my 2 SATA HDD's as IDE. I set them up as AHCI and installed the ICH8R driver on vista install. They think that might be the problem. What is the correct way. IN the bios when you configure SATA you have 3 options, IDE, RAID or AHCI...
I just installed Vista Bis. 64 last night on a new system with 4G of mem. Core2Duo 6700. I am getting random hangs/not responding for a minute or two. All the hardware seems to be fine so far. I am going to run a memory test later today.
What is funny is that when it hangs during a program...
I just built a new PC. Core2 duo E6700, Asus P5B delux, 2-74G WD RAptor HDD, 4Gb of Corsair memory, Corsair 620W PSU and Vista 64bit business. The OS hangs from time to time. Its weird because the HD starts to get an excessive amount of activity and then it hangs is not responding. I usually...
My room temp is about 75-77 right now. I am using the stock fan. I have a lianli pc6070 plus case. It sits in a desk compartment (one that is just to the right of my legs when I sit at the desk) but it should still have plenty of ventilation. What is normal for those C2duos?
What should be the normal temp of a Core2 duo E6700? When I checked mine in the bios of the motherboard, it was reading about 50-55 C.
That seemed hi to me. I am not overclocking and this is a brand new system.
I am rebuilding my PC and I am curious if it would be worth it for me to upgrade my case fans to something more efficient like this:Enermax fans
They seem more efficient and also quieter since they are magnetic.
Any suggestions?
I have a Core2 duo E6700 o its way. I don't plan on Overclocking or gaming (photoshop/business PC) is the stock heatsink and fan sufficient? Low noise is important too. I have a LianLi 6070 plus case.
I am sorry but I did not follow this topic. How do you tell which you have? Where is it located? I see my serial # and then above I see the 226BW and then further down on the same line as the model is an "S" all by itself.
I have a Core 2 duo 6700 and Asus p5B delux MB and 4gb of DDR800 on its way to me.
I need to order a new power supply very soon. This strictly a photoshop/business PC. No gaming. It will have 2 internal WD raptor HD's and 2 DVD drives. I thought my older Antec would work but it does not have...
I have an Antec Truepower 550w PS. Will that be sufficient for my new rig I am building?
Core 2 duo 6700, Asus P5B delux. I am only running two DVD drives and two raptor hard drives. It is strictly used for a business Photoshop PC.
Thanks
Thanks for the info. I must admit that I am not as technical as most people on this forum so some of the above info is above my head.
I was planning on the:
E6600 or 6700 or possibly the Q6600, but maybe I'll wait on the quad for the fall price drop.
I was going to go with 4gb of memory and...
Does Vista Ultimate Ultimate utilize four cores? Or does any OS utilize the quad core processors? I am still trying to debate if it is worth it for me to get the quad core CPU.
Thanks everyone. I did a comparisaon on Tomshardware.com of the two processors using CS2 and looks like the quad is a tick faster.
I am mostly doing RAW file processing for my weddings usually 300 to 400 images from both 16.7 and 8.2 megapixel cameras. I think mabe I'll spring for the quad...
I am going to rebuild since the prices just dropped. It is a Photography business only. No gaming and I did not plan to OC. Is the Q6600 worth the extra 200 hundred or so??
I was going to go with Asus P5B delux MB and 4g of DD2 800.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
I usually use Matrox cards for my photography/Photoshop use, but they are becoming hard to find and I don't want to spend 500. Is there another card that would be good for Photoshop image quality/NO Gaming for about or under $200?
I need honest suggestions from all of you experts on my new rebuild for my photography business. Mostyly Photoshop and business apps running. NO GAMING on this PC.
I already own a LianiLi 6070 case and Antec TPII 550 PSU. I also already have 2 WD Raptor SATA HD's. So I was thinking about Intel...
I can wait until July. My budget is about $1200 for CPU, MB and Memory.
I currently have a 550W Antec Truepower 2.0 PS. I plan on getting a Matrox PCIexpress Videocard. I have always had Matrox cards and they seem to be the best for 2D graphics work. I have a new LianLi case that I have been...
pkme2, your teacher is right! I teach photoshop classes and Digital SLR classes. I use photoshop to convert my RAW files from my 16.7 mp Canon 1DSmkII camera so I am generally pushing around some very large files. Sometimes 300 at a time. The full size tiff files from that camera are 48mb. Other...
Hello all, I plan on redoing my PC for my photography business (heavy Photoshop CS use) I was looking at an AMD64X2 4800 since some I already have 1g of DDR400 memory that will work with it and then add another 2g for a total of 3g. Or is there sommething new on the way that is worth waiting...
I don't need SLI. I just need what will be the fastest performing board. A good workhorse for a soon to be AMD64X2 4800 processor. I don't need SLI, so I don't need a bunch of things in the way that I will never use that might be stealing performance. I plan on using MAtrox 128mb PCIex video...
It looks like the Asus A8Nsli premium has some features that are nice, evenif you don't need sli. Like the cool pipe. I just hate to spend extra for features that I won't use, but I still want the best board for speed and performance.
I need suggestions on a new Motherboard for AMD64X2 4800? I like Asus boards. I don't need SLI, so is the A8nsli premium overkill? Is there another board that is just as good without sli? It is mostly for Photoshop CS with up to 4g ram.
Thanks.
