So Currently I have an E6700 running in an asus P5B deluxe mobo using an ATI X1900XT.
I have a QX6700 and 4GB of PC2 8500 (1066) DDR2 all sitting on my desk.
So from the asus sight. It says:
So to me that means it should take the QX6700 right?
Not Also from the asus sight. It says...
I'm building my first microATX factor system and all the powersupplies are between 250w-400w and I'm not sure if that is enough for the system.
MOBO: EVGA 112-CK-NF77-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce e-7150/630i HDMI Micro ATX Intel
Processor: Intel Q6600 or maybe Duo 6750
2GB DDR2 800...
Yeah i actually saw your build before I bought the case. That's some nice work! I dunno about the fan. I'm using the antec tri-cool fans. I couldn't get the case closed because the center of the fan would be hitting the peak of the heat pipes on the HR-03. I could probably fit a thin fan in...
Eh? I installed it according to Zalman's specs. It's pushing air through the fins and out the back.

scroll down a bit.
I am freaking amazed at the temps i'm getting now! I'll explain a little first. I bought an old generic case a couple years ago. Typical fan setup 120 front, 120 back, and an 80mm side fan. I think the only reason I bought it was because it said aluminum on it...thats it...right on the front...
I have one of these sitting on my desk with a 92mm fan. I am wondering if I should be pushing air through the heat sink or pulling air away from it?
I thought a fan was for pushing air through the fins too cool them. Right...
So I managed to fix the issue, but I am looking for a root cause.
Turn on puter this morning....all pictures are really dark and splotchy.
Update drivers since it's been a while.
Same thing.
Mess with catalyst control center and everything went back to normal when I hit "Reactivate...
I have read conflicting reviews of the tower fitting in the antec 900 case. Anybody have any experience with these products together?
Mobo is asus p5b deluxe.
thx
Heh well due to extreme laziness I finally go around to putting the arctic silver stuff on the cpu about 20 minutes ago.
Good results.
a bit cooler
I'm about 5C cooler at idle and 10C cooler under 100%cpu usage. The best part is no throttling now.
It still seems high, but I'm...
I have a Core 2 Duo E6700 on the way. I don't want to do a fullblown computer upgrade now (waiting until I upgrade to vista), but this prescott is a pile of power sucking overheating crap.
Anyway I have been trying to do some research, but I am just not that knowledgable about chipsets on...
Wow how frustrating. I downloaded Prime95 and Throttle watch. I guess the prescott's add some idle cycles in if the processor starts getting to hot. So I crank up prime 95 and start playing CS:S and the results are shown below.
WOWZAAAAAAAAAAAAA
LOOK AT ALL THAT THROTTLING. That is so...
Hmmm yeah jeez I dunno maybe that is normal operating temps for a prescott. I've been doing some research and everywhere I go it says they run around 50 idle and 70 under load.
Is there a program or anything I can use to crank up my cpu usage?
hmmm well its a generic case. Has a fan in the front, a fan in the back, and a fan on the side. I think front and side are 90mm and back is 120mm.
So I was trying to task my cpu and was playing CS:S while listening to music and copying a buncha files.
Temp peaked at about 74C :o and...
So I'm trying to hold out for a while before I build a new system. I just noticed when i was searching through my bios that my puter was running at 60C. Yikes I did some research and downloaded TAT...but it won't work since my chip is an engineering sample.
Any other good software for...
