Oil & Gas thread:12-17-08 OPEC & non-members agree to largest reduction in history 7 percent

I am afraid whether I enjoy it or not is of little consequence. U.S. corporations exist to make a profit. Currently, they can make a profit by selling diesel fuel to India and China. What's wrong with that? Yeah, I hate the prices at the pump just like everyone else, but only two things are...

Oil & Gas thread:12-17-08 OPEC & non-members agree to largest reduction in history 7 percent

The global demand for diesel has grown enormously. Some refineries here in the U.S. are producing more diesel than gasoline and selling it to Asian countries like China and India. Why? My guess is they are following the money. With weak demand in the U.S., it is more profitable to sell to a...

Oil & Gas thread:12-17-08 OPEC & non-members agree to largest reduction in history 7 percent

I just received an email from Delta Airlines since I am a SkyMiles member. It is signed by 12 CEOs of major airlines. Our country is facing a possible sharp economic downturn because of skyrocketing oil and fuel prices, but by pulling together, we can all do something to help now. For...

Honeywell/ADT/Brinks/etc, why do they send dudes from out of state door to door?

Save yourself some money and DIY. I can guarantee you that with the amount of sensors you want installed, any security company is going to charge you quite a bit of money. Check with your local phone company and see if they offer security monitoring (mine does and it is cheap with no contract).

    Ford posts 1st quarter profit...

Their pre-tax income was actually a lot lower than $669 million, but it was because of "special items." According to the report, personnel actions, US dealer reductions, and investment write-offs caused an additional $416 million impact to pre-tax profit.

Sex, dating, marriage, and the bible

I can agree with you to a certain extent. What this thread seems to be all about is people with a preconceived agenda looking to the Bible for specific passages that will support their agenda. In doing so, one can make the Bible say anything he or she wants; just pick the right phrases. I...

Disposal is rather expensive, but that should include transportation to the recycling facility which could account for close to half of that $2. Also, have you seen the machine used to recycle mercury-containing lamps?

One nice feature of the 416 is its gas piston, but you can find this on an AR-18 as well. Also, I seriously doubt desert eagle sales are fueled by gamers. Desert eagles are expensive and impractical.

Unfortunately, those are LEO/military only. You can buy the uppers, however, for about $3000. Supposedly, a civilian version is in the works, but it may not come until the end of the year. The MR223, I think they are calling it.

    Question about Intake Manifold Gaskets

I have a 2001 Malibu which suffered from the intake gasket issue. I opted to do the job myself. CAT5e LAN cable differences

Solid core wire is much stiffer than stranded. Do you have a spare patch cord lying around? Patch cords are stranded so bend them and compare. Of course, I have never seen riser rated stranded cable spools. I would suspect it is solid core.

What's the proper way to dispose of used batteries?

"Recycling" of alkaline batteries by disposal companies comes down to cost. It is usually cheaper to send batteries to a RCRA subtitle C secure landfill than to actually recycle them. DID telephone numbers

Depending on the price of centrex lines from your telco, you can order Centrex lines with separate phone numbers, and assign them to only ring on certain phones.
