I just picked up a 5000+ BE and 2GB OCZ Platinum ddr2 800 for $109 + $30 mail in rebate from TigerDirect. It's been 2 years or longer since my last purchase of a cpu. Still running my Opteron 165 and 3800 x2 939.
bought an acrylic fan adapter along with a panaflo M1A 120mm fan. Temps don't seem any better. No worse, but not any better. The fan is stinkin' huge though. It barely fit with my video card just below it.
Never thought about trying a 120mm fan. Great idea. I'll try that. Oh, filters are clean(I clean them as well when idle temps increase a bit). Thanks.

I have the cool n quiet turned off. I couldn't find the temp target aspect. I'm using Bios ver. 1.37mod. Don't know if that makes a difference. Also, I'm using a Lian Li LL Warrior case. I did a little bit of re-arranging of my wires and such(hadn't cleaned that up since putting everything...
I have an MSI Neo2 Plat. board with an A64 3000+ running at 2.4GHz. Initially I was using a TT Tower112 heatsink with a TT UFO 92mm fan and AS5 thermal compound. The temps were around 42 degrees at idle and 55 degrees full load. Well, I swapped that out for a TT Pipe101 Heatsink using the same...
Got that thing on there yet? I'm not impressed with my Thermaltake Tower112 thus far and thinking about getting something else. Know anything about it? Thanks.

I'm using the Thermaltake Tower112 on my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum board along with Thermaltake's UFO Fan. Temps using MBM are around 39-40 Degrees Celsius at idle and 50-52 Degrees Celsius running Prime95 Torture Test. Winchester 3000+ OCed to just over 2.2GHz. Hopefully I'll see some temperature...
Well, I put this thing on. Kind of a pain. I can only fit one fan on it because of it being kinda close to my video card. My temps are around 104-105 degrees F at idle using MBM. I was expecting a lot lower temps with this thing. The other thing I got to thinking was how heatpipes actually work...
At idle it's anywhere between 40-45 degrees. I don't imagine this is terribly high, but still room for concern since my last OC was a 2500+ Barton clocked to 2.3GHz and idled at like 36 Degrees. I'd hate to think that I wasted my money on this Tower112 heatpipe cooler. I was gonna try and put a...
while running Prime95 torture test? I'm running a 245 FSB. I'm using the Thermaltake Tower112 with a UFO fan. I'm currently between 52-55 degrees celsius. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ok, got that part. Now just assuming that I wanted to flash to one of the Beta BIOS, what's the particulars on accomplishing this with this MSI board? I was trying to Flash to Ver. 1.37mod, but couldn't gert it to work using AWDflash and a floppy disk. Any ideas Thanks.

I understand that there are some Beta BIOS versions out there for this board to help with OCing. I just got my system together last night and I noticed that I can't adjust the HT at all with the BIOS version that I have (1.30). Any suggestions? I understand that I need to be able to adjust this...
I've got one of these that I got a while back from a friend. I'm gonna use this in my new AMD64 machine that I'm building. Anybody have any experience with this model? Is it good for OCing? Thanks.

Anybody have this set-up? I have the parts that I'm putting together using a winchester 3000+ cpu; plan to OC a bit, but heatsink looks crazy to put on the board(might stress it too much). I'm also using a UFO twin blade fan from TT. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I've got 2 sticks of GEIL PC3200 Ultra cas 2 memory that I was able to OC up to a 440MHz FSB in a Barton system. I'm building an AMD64 3000+ System using the MSI Neo2 Platinum motherboard. Anybody have any issues using GEIL memory with this combo? And yes I plan on OCing the AMD64. Thanks...
