I think I have issues with my pc's internet and nothing seems to be helping. and maybe reinstalling will help. Can I just somehow reinstall/update all the drivers, etc and keep all my current programs?
What about system restore. My last restore point is dated 6 months ago. Can I try using that...
It kind of feels as if windows is trying to connect through a proxy...but the address is set wrong. Now, there's nothing in the settings, but I don't know what else to think, since it should all work!
yes, directly attached to the modem. Bell Canada DSL is the provider. static ip
I can ping everything. Default gateway is 192.168.1.1, dhcp
It's like something was damaged or blocking the connection. I tried reinstalling network card drivers, etc and nothing helps.
Is it possible somehow...
My laptop connects just fine, but desktop gives "page not found" right away.
Tried calling tech support from my DSL company but they said everything is fine.especially if 1 of the computers can connect.
We tried rebooting, pinging, unplugging and all the usual routine they go through and nothing...
My computer didn't come with a Windows disk. Vista was preinstalled.
Can I use an oem disk from my other pc to reistall the windows? The keys are different.
Every time I try to open a folder on my main hard drive or separate drive, a green bar on top would start slowly moving. 3-5 seconds later files would appear.
This is really messed up. How do I fix it? Never had this issue with xp
I just checked a few articles seems like 8400 or 8500 are faster for photoshop. Because of the price of CS3,I don't think I'll be upgrading for at least 2 years.
In regards to the motherboard, can you guys please recommend specific models. At this point I have an ASROCK mobo. Should I just...
I need a new hard drive(I'll take care of it),motherboard,CPU and 8GB Ram.
I am not going to overclock it. I need a stable system for Photoshop and Premiere work.
Looking to get intel. Need something not expensive, but with good and stable performance for business use.
I currently have x2...
I am thinking of upgrading,if I still can use my installation of winxp. Price difference(after my old cpu is sold) is about $100. Will the speed difference be worth it?
I uninstalled vista 64 after 5 months of use. I couldn't bare the bugs that it had. It would prefetch in times when I needed the memory the most and all the bugs like this. Returned to XP and can't be more happier
Ok,thanks everyone. I am not upgrading until sometime in September, when I am back at work, doing all the video processing and stuff. Hopefully prices will drop a bit more by then.
I usually upgrade to speed up my photoshop and video editing process. Last time my updgrade was from AMD's 2500. Speed difference was at least 3x.
I am thinking of upgrading again. Any CPUs that are twice as fast as my current setup?
Bellow is the code I have on my website. It's a link to a friend-site.

What's the best map software for a PDA. I bought an Eten m700,but still to get any maps. Looking for something that easy to use,has Canadian maps and small i size. Voice option would be nice too.
Are there reviews on mapping software for GPS units?
I've got 2gigs and 07 is sure slower. Especially with Hotmail. It would freeze in the beginning for like 20 seconds. Very sluggish as in what was expected from Microsoft. Hopefully they'll fix that,as it's just BAAAD
Basically I have the latest Nvidia official drivers. Compared to XP, in Vista video quality is worse. At full screen, all videos start to act like slideshows for some reason(around 10fps)
With 4 media players showing a video, cpu increases to about 90%.
Different artifacts show during play...
I have 2GB of ocz premiere ram. I am looking to get 4GB. I do not overclock my pc. Is there any difference between those choices? I mostly do photoshoping. Don't play much.
Last thing I want to do is spend $400+ to get an extra 1% of performance gain.
I did mentioned it..if you read it.
Anyways,I THINK I fixed. UPNP was disabled in Azureus for some reason. I turned it on and I got green lights on all downloads. Hopefully that was the problem as I dont' have any other options.
Now I don't know what to do. I unistalled NOD,but port is still blocked. Vista's av and firewall are turned off. I don't understand what's blocking it.
kaspersky is AV too,but was blocking the port until I opened it up. I have no other ideas on why I can't this to work. I don't want to unistall the NOD...
Really,
It didnt' work on me. Maybe because those drivers for Vista 32. Ihave 64bit. My NIC was disabled and I had to roll back the drivers to make it functional.
I don't have any other firewalls. I am on Vista if it makes any differences. I had kaspersky and used to manually do it. When I unistalled it, it was free again. Now,after I istalled the nod32,I can't seem to pass the azureus firewall test. I still get connected and able to download, but I get the...
My azureus torrent program needs port 65199. I think NOD32 is blocking it.How can I unblock it. I can't seem to find the same setup as I had in kaspersky.
So basically I need to run file slmgr with added -rearm to its name. Doing so 3 times will set the activation period to 120 days max(this is legal by the way!)
However,it says I do not have permissions. I am running this pc as the administrator.
Anyone know what's going on and how to get...
It's 20% slower than my XP. If you are using your pc to work, then that's extra 1.5 hours a day you are loosing on an average of 8 hours. I do hope it's all because it's new.
YES,I just uninstalled it and downloaded NOD32 as people suggested.
Kaspersky freed up some RAM and I noticed a slight improvement in all program startups. Now,at startup,it only uses 900MB of RAM.
Still not as good as XP(kasperksy worked great there). Folder start up times improved at least...
