Fyr's are a cheap local store. I like to buy my motherboard from local stores too so that I can take it back personally if there are problems. My last system I bought everything but the Motherboard on line. I live in California and they ding you for sales tax either via the internet or buying...
I've had no bad expereinces with my ASUS A8N-E, only good ... it's been rock solid and the NB chipset fan hasn't been a problem. I'd recommend the ASUS A8N-E as an ULTRA solution.
ASUS web site is OK .. not the best .. but what exactly do you need a manufacturers website for .. updates right...
You're going from an Intel (probably Celeron) to an AMD .. the OS drivers are going to be different.
1) The best thing is to reinstall the OS.
2) If you can't afford to lose all that data, you can always get another HD and put OS oon it and keep pld HD and get the data of it
3) back EMAIL...
The NF7-S is an EXCELLENT board .. a classic .. great siund with Soundstorm and a a great OC'er. I have an ASUS and two ABIT's and an ECS board right now and I like the Abit NF7-S is very nice NF2 board.
The quickest thing would be to remove all the NVidia drivers and then swap out boards ... let the OS install new hardware ... or just put in new MB and then do a repair of windows..... or get a new hard drive and do a fresh install on it and you still have the data on the old HD.
I just buolt...
Old systems go to family members or the school. Old components usally go in the closet for backups and repairs to systems that people ask for help with.

I have an X800XL video card which is a PCI Express card. The default setting is PCI slot.
I have it set ofr PCIEx, but wasn't too sure as the...
Nice rigs Gerbil. I think I'll have to take some pictures of my build too. This will make my 4th board as well, we gott'em all over our house. I told somebody today this will be my fourth computer and they kind of looked at me like I was from the planet GEEK.
I think I'll just try the stock...
I have the old one NB fan. I'm just wondering if I risk screwing up the warranty putting the replacement on before the install or just go with the old one and make sure the board is worthy.
I went with the ASUS A8N-E .. pretty much the same things you were looking for. Why get an SLI board though if you are not planning on using SLI?
To get the better SB on board sound on the MSI you have to go with the SLI board. The DFI and MSI Ultras still have a less than ultimate sound...
I'm building a new machine this weekend built on the ASUS A8N-E board. Having read many forum threads it is evident that the NB fan has been giving folks a lot of trouble. So .. I already requested and recieved a new NB fan from ASUS .. the bigger fan.
Question - Should I put this new fan...
