Hello folks.
So i finally managed to cough up $40 and buy myself 2nd hard drive (been running on 1 and it was time to stop playing risky games and start backing up).

hello folks

it wasn't a complete shutdown because after you turn it to sleep or hibernate (i...

Hey folks.
I was using wired keyboard+mouse for like 7 years and just recently bought wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse combo (Desktop Wave) and it was working fine for a month. I was satisfied with it...until 1 day both mouse and keyboard stopped working.
So i try to troubleshoot it, no...
Thank you for suggestions so far! I appreciate it.
@jterrel: the reason why I don't want Dell is because I don't want no-name brands. For example, I have no power over what hard drive brand, what RAM, what power supply i get. I plan to buy good brands for those. (I know this further limits my...
Hello folks.
I am getting new PC cause i got some $ for my birthday.

Hello guys.
I was just curious, because I am up for total upgrade (very needed upgrade) to my PC this March, whether I should pay attention to to AMD/Intel war.
I mean most of you folks are enthusiasts who need to squeeze every single drop of juice from your system as you can.
Me on the...

(1 receiver for kb, 1 for mouse)
p.s. yes i know there are desktop set combos
sorry it was stupid of me to leave out MB.
the mobo is Asus K8V SE Deluxe which is roughly 3.5 years old.
I tried to do bios update in the past (not because of this wireless issue) and it never worked for me.
i tried every single method (flopy/cd-r/windows utility tool) and always have some...
quick question:
Is it just me, or do wireless keyboards NOT work before windows starts (such as in bios)
i received a warning about CPU overheating (it's a usual error which means i have to open my windows to cool it down a bit) and it asked me to press F1 to resume (which i always do)...

My monitor has been doing that for a very long time and it's not even Acer.
It's 22' ViewSonic and my video card is ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB.
I should note however that my room gets very hot sometimes. So hot, that my PC shuts itself down due to CPU overheating every hour (not joking)
I...
I know the answer to when is probably "when you need one" but I am semi-fine with my current 3 year old single core AMD.
It does it's job which is very basic, and the biggest load this computer ever faces is Photoshop + Firefox + winamp + watching a DVD.
Anyhow, I am looking to build my next...
NoelS, the keyboard you are talking about (http://www.techexcess.net/imag...board-Mouse-2-220.jpg) is in fact Dell Wireless Bluetooth combo.
And what's more funny is that I actually had it for a week before deciding to returning it because I did not like mouse at all. The mouse was not...
Hey folks.

Hello again folks.
For pretty much all of my computer life, I never had any speakers that were priced more than $20.
Nor I had headphones, as all my headphones were dollar store bought.
Anyways, that was for small intro.
Thanks to Boxing Day, I was able to buy Logitech X-540 which is a...

Hey guys.
