heh alrighty thanks for the help. i will upgrade to 64bit and see if that does anything. I will also ask on the ASUS forums just in case this is a known issue..
I'm using vista 32bit and the ram are all in the same color slots. I thought vista utilizes over 4gbs, no? As for bios I didn't see anything I'll have to look again...isn't it strange that bios doesn't show every gig while cpuz does?
Hello Everyone,
I just finished a i7 build but the bios and windows only detect 4gbs while cpuz sees 6...i installed the RAM in the appropriate dimms according to the directions from ASUS.
any suggestions?
Thanks!
(this is the ram i have installed...
heh i know that technology comes out at a rapid pace...I joined in 2005 when i built my first computer and 3 years later I want a new machine. I just was thinking that there is a month or two that tons of things come out, like with video games. Thanks for the inputs!
I am thinking about building a new PC. I am in no rush...so I am wondering when should i start to look into buying parts. Is there a particular time when new components get released (CPU,GPU, etc) it would suck to buy a part today and a month later a better part comes out. Thanks.
Thanks for the in depth post. My birthday is coming up next week so I am thinking about a iPhone as a present. However I would hate to get it and in a month they would announce a newer version.
Hello everyone,
I remember around late December beginning of January there were rumors about a 3g iPhone coming out around April. Now I cannot manage to find any information about that. Did anyone hear anything about it?
My motherboard is a ASUS one that has AI N.O.S. and from what i understand it overclocks when the system is under heavy stress. Does anyone know good this is?
apparently the x2 3800+ shows up as a bottleneck on games now :/ so i was wondering if it makes sense to upgrade to the X2 4400+ its around $150-$180. socket 939 and i'm going to stick with it until i get a new computer...in like 2 years from now. Should i wait longer until the prices drop down...
ya those software install something named SPTD and apparently causes a lot of issues for many ppl. I accidentally came across it and was like "what the hell might as well try" and it worked. I might try to reinstall daemon tools since the problem went away after I removed alchohol120%
i think the signal is weak...what does dirty mean? I decided to goto JR tomorrow and pick up a http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4132760 any info on this piece?
My wireless doesnt maintain a steady signal, it jumps around from 54 to 48 to 36 etc so i was thinking about getting this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16833147115
Will it really boost the signal strength? are there any drawbacks? Are there better ones out there for cheap?
well i've had this burner for a while and used it a lot. Over the summer i had to take out some things in my computer and kinda forgot to plug the power back into the drive lol so i lived without it. recently i opened it up again and plugged it in. Ever since then i'm having annoying issue's...
i've only burned one cdr since it was the only disk i had that wasnt being used. This is the same DVD drive i've burned everything with. i'm using the latest version of nero 7.5.9.0 i also tried other programs but none of them allow me to erase the disk
well its going to require a ton of wires lol and right now the router is positioned in the best and only position. so there are no settings within the two routers that can be configured so that they work together?
well thats like a last resort...i'll have to see what the cheapest is. The one in my room cost me around 70 :/
What is static routing? in the brief discription is says "Used when adding additional routers and subnets to your network" so i'm assuming thats the setting i need to work with.
Hello Everyone,
I posted this in technical support but i think this section is more suitable.
Recently i've been able to use my old computer again. the problem is that my router is located in my lobby since the active computers have only been the laptop and my desktop (there is no phone...
