Need everyone's feed back on proposed parts I'm buying.
- This will be a machine for work only in 3dsMax & Video Editing. In 3dsmax it will mainly be small animations or small projects. Do not anticipate large architectural designs.
- Budget is around $2k, prefer to stay under.

I had a similiar problem with my first build(the fans twitching and the system not powering up). The computer loaded windows fine, loaded drivers, etc, restarted the computer and the power just went off. Couldn't get it to power-up. I eventually just took off the main 24-pin power connector...
Odd, anyone paying attention to the Middle East knows that Islam plays an absolute vital and prominent role in politics. I mean Hamas is a political party that uses suicide bombings as military engagement; they call it a Jihad or Fatwa against Israel and scream Allah Ackbar during detonation...
Does everyone here know that the health care industry is the most regulated industry in the country, right? Regulation, typically, lead to high costs and stagnates competition which drives down costs.
Yeah, no harm at all, burning embassies aside. Ignoring your inability to perform basic math, I agree that discussions in forums get muddled. However, I believe you can have a pretty good discussion as long as you type clearly. I think you suffer from not expanding on your thoughts, and I...
Bravo Saahmed, please keep your word and do that. The world can be changed by people like you. You have no idea how important you are in this struggle against the radicals.
Well then, what are you talking about? Fanatical Muslims are the ones threatening Europe with beheadings, terrorism, and burning embassies. I mean, I'm assuming the ones doing that are fanatical.
Buddies or lip service? Should we alienate Saudi Arabia, in turn, they refuse to sell oil to us and ultimately criple our economy? I wonder if Canada and the rest of the western world would be effected by the US economy collapsing. Got any ideas how we could not be friends with the Saudis and...
Meuge, don't forget that the US pressured Israel to return the Sinai peninsula. Kinda odd, since I was starting to get convinced that the US is run by Israel.
Again all conjecture. You assume they are going to take land because they are growing. How can you be so sure? You can't, plain and simple. Good luck with your war against Israel and predicting the future.
All conjecture. If the population of Portugal, or Holland, or Kuwait keeps growing and growing, your logic assumes these countries will start taking land from their neighbors.
Saahmed, instead of wasting your time posting here, find some muslim fanatics that are protesting violently and tell them they should do it peacefully. Post on radical muslim forums that call for death to america and europe, and type to them that they shouldn't use violence. If more people...
The Luxinator said this:
"The Arabs find themselves in a struggle for keeping their land, while the Israeli's are in a struggle to gain more land, with the modern equipment and international support by the super powers add to that the lobbying everywhere BOM you got a winner. "
A poster named Alaa said this:
"israel got much help from US, do u want to tell me that they became that strong in 17 years oh thats rediculous..and now the freedom of speech= ban! thats funny! am telling u we were not good in the past 100 years for reasons u dont have to know, Soviet didnt...
Where is the hypocrisy of upholding ONE of the tennets of a 200 year old document? I can see the hypocrisy if nothing has ever been changed in the constitution, but arguing to keep some or even most of the tennets of the document, isn't hypocricy. Especially in context to the discussion that...
Yeah, my family member will never fill up an 80gig drive. It's just office apps and internet(with a modem btw). That's why the video card(none), hard drive, and cd-burner/combo I picked would be fine (can't see him burning dvds). Was planning on a 939 so after a few years I could just pop in...
This is the exact config I just made (except I had 512 & sempron 3000 instead of 1gig and 2800), with shipping it came out to be around $401. Didn't think there was any tax to be paid. I think you guys are right. I just assumed if I got a socket 939 3 years later I could get an FX or X2...
The 3200 is cheaper than the 3000, shrug. You are right about the hard drive. 2 sticks aren't better for dual channel motherboards? If not, then one stick of 512 it is.
Ok. Did some rearranging and ditched the DVD-R for a DVD/Combo and got this for the same price:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3200BPBOX - Retail $158.79
BIOSTAR GEFORCE 6100-M9 Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $59.00...
OK. Read about four different forums. All say you can use a standard ATX case with a microATX board. So that leave the question:
Can anybody recommend a good black case with 24-pin power supply for around $40?
Not putting a video card in it, however, I see the problem if I need to upgrade the card in the future. Can i get a regular ATX case and still use a microATX motherboard?
Lol, I know. Read the reviews on Newegg. People seem to be pleased with it. I'd be more worried if I was going to put more drives and a video card, but since it's only 2 drives and onboard video, I figured I be alright. I'll keep looking.
Hey everyone. I'm trying to build a PC for a family member for about $400. I want to be able to keep it some what future proof incase he wishes to upgrade later. So I think it should be a 939 socket motherboard with PCI Express x16. Any thoughts here would be good.
This is what I came up...
