Frequency and maximum concurrent data throughput

That's assuming it only has a single 20 MHz slice and that there is only one WiMax cell in that area. I would presume that there would be multiple "cells" that are probably channel hopping with multiple frequency which essentially allow multiple sets of 96 Mbit bandwidth. My guess that a WiMax...

Which socket type / pin configuration do you prefer?

I liked slot for its simple installation but installing an aftermarket heat sink is not fun sideways! So I'd have to go with PGA as the thought of trying to fix bent pins on a motherboard is total nightmare.

    The new all electric cars

I have driven a super capacitor powered vehicle....it is quite impressive compared to standard lithium batteries in terms of performance. But its energy density is lacking, and it was not a battery vehicle but rather a fuel cell powered one. But I continue to find super caps to be of great...

    The new all electric cars

Thank you for the great reply. I was particularly interested in the oxidation part of the lithium battery cells as that is what Battery University was probably referring to in the 3 year shelf-life of the lithium cobalt oxide batteries. I did not realize the LiPOFe4 batteries had a significantly...

    EVGA X58 or Asus P6T

For the overclocking part being user friendly, I think it has to due to the predefined profiles Asus has already created meaning the user won't have to worry about the multitude of settings that require massive research to figure out and just worry about as few variables as possible.

Is it possible for you to elaborate more on the internal chemistry breaking down? How is time involved in the breakdown of the internal chemistry? I've always understood heat but never understood the time portion of it.

Have you ever fried a mobo b/c of carpet or building on carpet?

The thing I always tell people building computers is that its generally really easy except WATCH OUT for ESD!!!!! My first fried component was when I was fixing my sister's friends system when all of a sudden she comes in picks up the CPU from the ground and puts it on the bare carpet...

    Crucial Ballistix Tracer

I've seen the DDR-2 800 Tracer kits go for as low as $55 for a 2x1 GB set. I've had them for over a year (I actually had the DDR2-1000 which I paid $330 - $45 MIR which died and Newegg gave me a complete refund which allowed me to buy 4x1 GB of the DDR2-1066 for cheaper! I love Newegg!) and...

    Odd C2D E6600 Temps

That is odd, I'm idling around 45-50 C at times, but I load around 70-80 C on Intel TAT, and around 70 C on Orthos, 1.47 vdrop (1.525 set in the BIOS). If i'm idling at 55 C (when my room is around 90 F), i'm too afraid to run it at such a high voltage, (65-70 just gaming). Thermalright...

Anyone tried unlocking Stream Processors on an 8800 GTS?

LoL, actually I was using that program there too. I don't know if they've updated it...I downloaded my copy back when I got my 9700 Pro in March of '03 haha. From my short time testing with it though, It didnt' get it as hot ATI-Tool though.

Anyone tried unlocking Stream Processors on an 8800 GTS?

Ah, oh well! Thanks, thats the kind of answer I was looking for. What kind of overclocks are you guys getting? I managed to get my GTS up to 660/1100 MHz running stably for an hour of stress testing with load temps around 76-79 C. Shocked at the 300 MHz overclock on the ram are they...

Anyone tried unlocking Stream Processors on an 8800 GTS?

Has anyone tried to do it through riva tuner? I'm afraid if I did it and I get a black screen I wouldnt' be able to turn it off. On the brightside, so far overclocked from 500/800 to 660/1000 and no artifacting yet!

Anyone tried unlocking Stream Processors on an 8800 GTS?

So yeah? I'm surprised I couldn't much information on this with google searches and multiple forums. At first I thought the 8800 GTS wouldn't have the SP units even on the chip, but when I opened up RivaTuner, it was there and says disabled. Now the question is...IS IT REALLY THERE OR ARE...

Wierd Peculiarities on my RAID array

I was using HD Tune 2.51 to bench my drives and for some odd reason, my RAID 0 would seem to skip every now and then dropping its throughput significantly. This is only apparent on the RAID setup as my other drive is perfectly fine. The RAID 0 is hooked up into a Promise PDC20378 on a...

If you don't have PCIe - Would you like an AGP 7800 or X1800 ?

It would be crazy for ATI to release a X1800 AGP atm as they still can't supply enough PCI-E chips as it is.

Anyway to check many pipes is in my ATI card?

Anyway to check many pipes is in my ATI card?

Hi, I bought a X800 Pro refurb from ATI's clearance store and after installing it, I looked through ATI Tool and notice that it says Active Pipes - 16. I was shocked and was wondering if there was anyway this could be true for only a X800 Pro! (It's not a VIVO as far as I know) but maybe the...

Do Fan Controllers reduce the power usage?

Thanks a lot! And I also now understand PWM with your explanation. Its very similar to Intel Thermal Throttling too in Pentium 4's then.

Do Fan Controllers reduce the power usage?

Thats true about the 6 volt low speed, but 6 volts still mean i'm saving 25 watts. The main thing is, i wasn't sure if I have my electrical thinking correct in that resistors convert the power to heat or just stops it from being used.
  39. J

Do Fan Controllers reduce the power usage?

Well, I was just wondering how the fan controller works. Currently i'm guessing that the fan controller would just reduce the voltage through resistors and converting that electricity to heat rather than it actually reduce the power consumption. Is this theory of mine correct or wrong? I'm...

    fps gaming and headaches
