    4870 vs GTX260 with Sep10 price

Yep you can't go wrong with either one. They have practically equal price and equal performance now that nV have dropped the prices on the GTX260 by a massive amount. I would probably consider you looking at a few benchmarks and see which card performs best in the games you play. I ordered...

    Is a 2.13GHz Core2 enough for 4870?

Overclock the CPU, at 2.13GHz it will be a pretty heavy bottleneck and you'd be better off getting the cheaper HD4850. Even at 2.6GHz it will bottleneck it in a lot of cases but you'll see huge improvements in performance.

Is your processor Running slower than you think it should be ? Or at a different multiplier than it should be ?

Yep same thing happened to me. It's a fine ratio thingy mabob you can either set it to +0.0 or +0.5. If you set it to +0.0 then when you set the multiplier to 9 it will be calculated as a 9 multiplier. But if you set it to +0.5 then when you set the mutliplier to 9 it will be calculated as a 9.5...

    Any news on 1GB 4870?

But they are the exact same cards, only different brands, how can they clock any differently? The HD4870 1GB that is. Only the HD4850s have been modified by 3rd party vendors like PowerColor adding 2GB of VRAM to the HD4850 (which by Guru3Ds review lowers performance).

I'm will be buying a HD4870 1GB this week. Will be ordering it on Thursday. I could get it now but I'm ordering all my PC upgrades in one day so I can get a VIP discount and combo deals to get everything cheaper. The 1GB HD4870 has been in Australia for a few days now. But they are selling...

Please be honest... 280GTX TRI SLI vs 4870X2 CFX

IIRC the only real major issue with the GTX280 is that the heatsink is not attached properly and isn't connecting to the GPU itself hence overheating and inevitably the dying of the card. You can take the heatsink off and reapply it to make sure it fits properly. From what I've read quite a...

    Q9400 V.S. Q6600

I know a few people who have upgraded from a Q6600 to a Q9450 and they say it was totally worth it. Apparently with some benchmarks they have conducted and gaming they said the Q9450 at 3.6GHz is equivalent to a 3.8-4GHz Q6600 and achieving those speeds on the Q6600 isn't exactly easy...

ASUS P5Q Deluxe vs. ASUS P5Q-E

I believe they are talking about the PCIe slots there. 8 phase is x8/x8 whereas 16 phase is x16/x16 meaning a lot more bandwidth. If I'm correct both are PCIe 2.0 slots so 8 phase is really x16/x16 and 16 phase is x32/x32 and considering you don't need more than x16/x16 for SLI/CF your better...

Please be honest... 280GTX TRI SLI vs 4870X2 CFX

He said he's the type of guy who likes having an overkill system and frankly if he wants to waste the money on that kind of setup than it's his decision. But I would have to agree with JPB. I'm gonna buy myself a 1GB HD4870 this week and it should be more than enough for gaming at 1680-1050...
