GA-EP35-DS3P seems to require Extreme Performance setting to OC!

Of those three settings, only "8" is regarded as a safe setting. The other two are both extreme and require excellent hardware and a lot of luck to be able to run while oc'ing. I would use nothing but the "8" option for overclocking. The other two options might be fun to experiment with on a...

GA-EP35-DS3P seems to require Extreme Performance setting to OC!

The "Performance Settings" on Gigabyte-boards changes the "perfomance level" of the chipset, which is a RAM-timing related setting. I can't tell in which way this changes on your particular board, but you can monitor the changes in the program "MemSet" by booting at all three settings and take...

How to overclock q9450 with rampage formula?

That's true, it's much safer to have knowledge. I hope blogz101 will read up on the subject. In the meantime, the most crucial thing is to monitor temps and to verify stability. If booth things are ok at all time, the risk is small. To monitor cputemp use RealTemp, and for other sensors...

How to overclock q9450 with rampage formula?

MBLucid, I ran into the C1-error too, by accident only in dual-channel mode, but the solution was real simple and almost embarrasing. I hadn't seated the RAM-modules 100% perfect in the slots, I did the same mistake several times. What I was doing wrong was that I pushed the modules mostly one...

Nice finding, Unaimed. So, Lydia, is anyone else going to get the opportunity to test this bios ? I have 2-2-2-5 memory as well, and it would be great to have a known functional 2-2-2-5-bios in the backpocket if I decide to use higher multiplier/lower mem freq and hence will need the tighter...

I just wonder .. what is this weird stuff that some seem to be able to go higher than 1.55V Vcore on this board ? 1.55V is the maximum setting on my board, and it only gives 1.52 as it undervolts. Anyone who knows ? Unaimed, 245 is 100% stable 1:1 here but if i go up to 247 1:1 SuperPi starts...

brettf1, yes, I use Nvidia, 71.20-driver or something which works very well. Nice, to see Nvidia officially launched a newer set as the old 6x.xx they had on their site before that was both old and also buggy in x64. As when it comes to XGI, I guess they won't release any x64-driver until...

There is no official x64-drivers out yet, and so there aren't any on any driver-CD. However, I can confirm that Windows x64 RC2(build 1433) works rather well on my rig. Only things I downloaded was VIA Hyperion 4in1 x64-Beta from VIAs site and Nvidia Forceware x64-Beta(from guru3d.com).

It is a very stable and fast board BUT it may not be the best match for a 3000+ if you like to overclock, as this board doesn't love high fsb. However, with a 3200+(10x multiplier) and above and some good memory you can expect a good overclock and very good performance if running 240-250 fsb in...

morfinx, my board is certainly not showing anything higher than 1.55 in the bios. w1.4-bios. that is with a Winchester, obviously there will be different readings with a Newcastle as it requires more voltage by default. I would love to have it show higher settings in the bios ...

There is not any higher than 1.55V in the bios, so there's absolutely no risk that you can fry your Winchester with this board. And of course 1.55V is what gives the highest clock for me. I guess 1.6-1.65 would get me over 2.6GHz, but according to Lydias technician it isn't possible with this...

dashiki is probably right, remember that this is a dual-channel board and has loads of memory bandwith "by default". It is not as important to clock the memory as with a single-channel board. Compare to videocards where a 6600GT with memory at 1100MHz has much worse bandwith than a 6800...
