Hi Jefalogs,
The swap program is no longer active, as the X48 board is now EOL'ed. I spoke with our APAC division and they will get in contact with you directly to discuss. I believe you already put in a request with Alex. Send me a PM if you don't hear from them.
This is only a guess, but according to his posts on TweakTown forums, LeeKay is using 6 modules of unsupported memory running at 1600MHz, 7-8-7-20, 1.9v. Mentioning that to RMA, I would assume, is why they told him to go into the forums to ask for help, as they can't officially offer any...
As mentioned in the other X48-DQ6 thread, please carefully read the memory voltage settings according to your mem. manufacturer. It is strange that GEIL put wrong spec on package. GIGABYTE when designing our boards has followed Intel design guidelines regarding mem volts at default. However...
Hi Guys,
Just a quick message. The 790i board has been delayed one week, so we are looking at mid July. The reason for the delay is due purely to scheduling.
Best Regards,
Colin
Hi VirtualLarry,
Sorry you feel that way, but you need to understand that not every user has the same computing needs that you do. Some people do not want to pay extra money for some features they do not need. Do we ignore these customers by only making motherboards with every available...
Hi MrAk,
Yes, I am Technical Marketing manager at our headquarters in Taipei. Unless there is any last minute delay, we are still looking good for early July on the shelves. We originally planed this time frame as we wanted to get Intel P45 development done first.
The 790i chipset's main...
Hi MrAK,
We decided to forgo the 780i board as this was basically same chipset as 680i. We are however still on schedule to have our 790i at the end of June/beginning of July.
Best Regards,
Colin
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to chime in before Computex sucks aways all my time. As Mr. eklock2000 mentioned from Chuck, please carefully read the memory voltage settings according to your mem. manufacturer. GIGABYTE when designing our boards has followed Intel design guidelines regarding mem...
Hi Mr. Virtual Larry,
The reason for not including the additional SATA controller on our X48-DS4 and X38-DS4 is to allow for product segmentation between the DS4 and DS5 (For the P35 motherboards, we didn't have a DS5 model). If you are really interested in the additional 2 SATA support, I...
Hey Guys,
Sorry about the late reply, as I was out of the office on Mon and Tues. The reason why we haven't released an official BIOS, is that some of you guys are still reporting some spiking with the beta fix. The engineers are still testing and I'll let you know what they find. They are...
Hi Cactusdog,
According to our testing report from engineers I'm looking at now, the F9b does dramatically fix the issue. Can you send me your detailed system config including any add-on cards as well as a screen cap showing the dropouts on your system using F9b?
As you mentioned, we do have a BIOS update to resolve this issue. Not sure if all models have been updated with latest BIOS on the GIGABYTE website yet, but if anyone needs, send me a PM with your board and email address and I'll send over to you.
Best Regards,
Colin
Hi Mr. Cragfin,
It depends on which model you have (GA-P35-DS3L (Rev 1 or 2) or GA-EP35-DS3L). My suggestion is to go to the product page of your specific board on the gigabyte website. On the right menu bar, go to CPU Support List. It will tell you the first BIOS version to offer support for...
Mr. KillerG,
As I suggested. If you are really interested in a solution, then contact us. Otherwise go your legal route. You mentioned you already did, so I'm not sure what it is you want trying to accomplish by furthering this conversation here. If you are wanting to me to argue with you...
@ Mr. KillerG,
There are in fact 2 clauses on your box that read:
"Motherboard specifications may not be exactly as shown. Please confirm specifications with your dealer prior to purchase."
and
"the specifications and pictures are subject to change without notice."
We print this...
Hi Mr KillerG
I just wanted to reply to a quote from your earlier post: "Don?t care it is GB?s fault for not making it right for the consumer."
How can we make it right for a consumer who hasn't contacted us about fixing the problem? I guess you have decided to go the legal route, which is...
@ Mr. KillerG
Have you talked to the contact window I provided you? They might be able to help you out. As I mentioned earlier, there is a rework we can do on your board that will allow support for QX6850, so you can have all the support that was promised to you. We also offer a free upgrade...
Hi Guys,
I want to repeat you don't need the ship in the original packaging. It is only highly recommended that you do so so it doesn't get damaged in shipping. If you don't have the original packaging, please send in a box and packing material that will protect the board, especially the...
Hi JAGGERWILD and all,
The email you received about the shipping back your motherboard is normal RMA procedure. The email is more a warning to ensure people take adequate care of wrapping their board for shipping. If you have the original packaging, that is obviously best. You wouldn't...
Dear Mr Beagle and Mr Jaggerwild...
Trying to understand what the nightmare is that you are mentioning. If users don't wish to send in their boards as they are currently using them in their system, there are a couple of options for them, that RMA should be discussing with them that will...
Hi Guys,
I just had a video conference call with Leo in the US. He apologizes to you guys that contacted him, but he didn't check further down his email before replying to you guys to see the our emails from headquarters. Those of you who contacted him, he will give a call to immediately...
Hi Guys,
Sorry about my post last week. I was under the impression that the US RMA fully understood the policy, but I seemed to have jumped the gun. Yesterday we were able to better coordinate all local RMAs, so we have come up with the following solution. For those wanting resolution, please...

Hey Guys,
The US/Canada region is the first to implement, but the other regions will quickly follow. It will take a few days to contact all regions, so you might have to wait a little bit longer before talking to RMA. As Taiwan has a holiday on Friday, it will probably be early next week...
Hi Guys,
As JAGGERWILD posted, we have a replacement policy in place. Those of you who tried to RMA US/Canada will be contacted Thursday. If you aren't contacted I suggest using the contact details posted by JAGGERWILD.
These BIOS are not a fix for 1333 Quads...In these later BIOS versions, I believe support was removed...but they may fix some other issues you guys have been having. Also not sure if these address the DMI issue, but I am trying to replicate and will let you know my results.
Hey Blazer7...The latest I have is F6b and and FBc. I will pass them to Gary and also try to have them uploaded on the GIGABYTE website.
In terms of further development, do you guys have any requests you would like to see in a next BIOS version? It makes it easier when I go to the BIOS...
Hey Guys...Colin here from GIGABYTE. Sorry, haven't responded in a bit, but was out of the office sick on Friday. Just want to give a status update.
First, I want to clear up some misconceptions about the F5g BIOS I sent to TT to post. As I mentioned to them, it was in no way "the solution"...
