I took out all but 1 dimm. I got some two errors which I'm contacted an EVGA member about. I've got video and everything looks healthy in bios.
I'm guessing a stick of ram is bad? I'ma do memtest and see whats up.
Troubleshooting starter
1. Overview of the problem
Brand New Build, I'm getting No video at all, and I'm hearing no post.
2. Full description of the problem and symptoms
Brand new i7 system. I put everything together, double checked wires and was feeling good about the build...
See those make no sense though... Because this card has worked in a 16x slot in another computer and this card has worked with the same psu connectors in the bottom slot of my mobo. So Those can't be the right errors. It has to do with all three of them being on.
I think though, if I flash my bios and I still can't get this thing to work instead of building a new computer I will just pay the restocking fee and see if I can get my money back from Newegg. Because I forgot about dx11 coming out in a couple months and it might pay to wait till those cards...
I recently bought a Asus EAH4890 for my old desktop and a Corsair 850w to power it as well. To make a longer story short I'm going to need to buy the rest of a new computer as well. I was just looking for some ideas. I was wanting to hold out till the new 32nm comes out from Intel next year. Not...
The Asus Manual is worthless it doesn't have anything, and I've been searching online for anything on the lights. Most I could get was something to do with a short... But I doubt it because i have all my screws in on my mobo and plus that old 7800 gt worked in that slot. I haven't got around to...
I'm headed over to a friends house shortly just to check and make sure the card works on a PCI-e 2.0 slot. How do you switch the ports to run at 8x I'm guessing somewhere in bios?
I had it overclocked for a while and it ran stable for ever. I backed it back down to default after my last reformat. I'm going to run memtest as soon as I have the time.
Recently my desktop decided to come up with some fatal errors keeping me from booting into xp stably. I could boot into safe mode where I was able to pull off my data so I could give my computer a fresh copy of xp. Everything pulled off successfully. I put in my professional disk and started...
Well, today I ran a couple programs and it came back as the drive was ok, with no bad sectors. I tried the safe mode permissions thing with ownership. Still no luck, says the same thing as before... I just don't know.
I never encrypted them, I know that I never did that, unless it it was encrypted without me knowing...
I'm also thinking it does have to do with permissions too, But no matter how many times I set permissions for these admin accounts, that still doesn't fix it.
I'm trying to see if I can hook it up to my friends computer, see what happens then. I'll keep you guys updated.
Edit, I think i'ma also try and reformt and install windows again, Some other programs installed on my c drive are not working properly, so maybe it is a bad install?
Also, I tried sending the files via Xfire to my friend to see if he could view them. But I was unable to, the error reads
"Failed to open file '(name)'.
Check to make sure file is not open by another application"
why does it keep saying another application is using it... Is that because...
One thing I forgot to mention. Was when I restarted the computer with the backup drive attached. It renamed it drive "e", so I renamed it back to "x" which is what I had it on before I did the reformat.
well, i know a 1280x1024 wallpaper picture is at 457 KB. When I try and copy them to my C drive I get
"Cannot Copy (filenamehere):Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."
So I just recently bout myself a 500gig hdd so I could back up all my media and then reformat my primary drive. Well I back everything up, reformat my drive, install windows, everything goes smoothly. I turn my computer off, hook up my backup drive back to my mobo and boot it up. Well When I try...
Well i don't think its the mobo because, my mouse and external hd works fine and ipod plugs in ok. But like the keyboard works after i restart a couple times, and there is no drivers for it. So i'm not sure whats wrong
On Windows xp, when ever you press Ctrl+Alt+Del and it brings up that windows with system tasks, there is normally tabs at the top. Well mine are gone now. They some how magically disappeared. And i would love to have them back. So any ideas?
Much Appreciated
Thanks in advanced
From some odd reason every time I shut down my computer and unplug my keyboard and then plug it back in and restart later it won't read my keyboard. I then proceed to have to restart several times before I luckily get it to work.
Its a saitek Eclipse I keyboard USB
I just wanna know if...
so BartPE saved my life :)
yea the indexes were screwed up and and i had to run chkdisk a couple times but it finally corrected it, and i don't think i lost a thing, so i'm very thankful
