I can't get the motherboard to recognize my hard drive. During start up it says "no hard drive found" The bios recognizes it only as a SATA device not a hard drive. The Vista OS will run but it is as though it was on an external hard drive. Asus says the mother board is bad, any other thoughts?
This boards Bios has advanced setting beyond my ability. I would like to change the DDR2 speed to 1066 and the timing to 7-7-7-20. I can navigate through the entire Bios however, I'm afraid to try changes I'm not sure of. Other than changing the DDR2 voltage to 2.0v I'm lost.
I have a Dell Dimension 8400. It has a Pentium 4 540J 3.2 mhz socket 775 Prescott processor. The mother board is a Dell with an Intel Alderwood i925X chipset Southbridge 82801. I would like to know if I could upgrade to a Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6 ghz CPU. If that would work how much higher...
I installed the PC Probe II program however, my power fan & chassis fan 1,2&3 show 0 RPM. I know they must be tied into the motherboard. How is this done. Also my CPU temp. shows 35c and my MB temp is 43c. Shouldn't the CPU always be hotter than the motherboard?
I just finished my first build. PQ5 Deluxe, Intel Q9550, Geforce 8600 GTS, Seagate Barracuda HD Vista home deluxe. My build continues to find and intal a floppy drive that is not there. Any ideas to remove it perminatly.
