I'm looking to gather components for a new build (an expert assembler/builder will actually do the build). PC is to be used for: high def video editing, surfing with multiple windows open, management of large digital photo database, and finally for occasional but high end video game playing...
Plan to do mainly video editing but also want as good as possible gaming system (budget $2500) but already have monitor. Also some hid def video editing.
What will hold up throughput the most as far as hardware goes? I was planning to get 3-4 GB memory or should $ be put into betters GPU(s)...
The Nvidia website where they list supported MoBos does not specifically mention the ASUS P5W DH but they do say they support the Intel board which I believe uses the same chipset (Intel 975x).
Can any others who use this combo verify that they are compatible? Thanks
As I look to build a new C2D system, I see that the Asus board seems to be a top choice of many on this forum and others across the internet. Why is there little or no enthusiasm for the Intel offering for their new chips? I'm really quite a newbie so would appreciate some insights on this...
