Shouldn't there be some official news coming in, it's late afternoon in Taipei on the 30th... Did I get something wrong with the times?
Edit: spoke too soon
Got it working. You just need to get sol.exe and cards.dll from an XP machine from the system32 folder and keep them in the same folder on the windows 7 machine. I tried this before I posted, it wasn't working when I put those files in windows 7's system32 folder.

Ordered one from puget last week.

160GB is just barely large enough to load OS, primary programs and music files. Putting this into a macbook pro 15" late 2008 unibody. Considering just going ahead and modding the crap out of this MBP with...
ViRGE: Yes I was thinking along those lines as well but I have no idea how I would access whatever other way it is sending the streams out.
The company does make a proprietary windows app so you don't have to use IE in windows, but there is no way i can figure to get the video from it...
Hello All,
I am trying set up a Q-See QSD9004 four camera+DVR video surveillance system for someone. (they picked it up at costco) The DVR/camera system is a small linux based unit and hooks into ethernet to serve up a web based display interface.
The problem is that it requires active X, so...
In lieu of building a computer for somebody what manufacturer would you go with? Just trying to set someone up with a basic desktop with budget around less than 1000.
This is a laptop HD in a dell latitude D610.
It is a friends machine and I am trying to help him out. He has about 20 gigs worth of years of photos on this thing, with NO backups!
EDIT: running windows XP, NTFS file system. 80gig toshiba drive. I wish i could pull this drive out and hook it...

to get an x-fi working under 64bit beta 2:

i don't know, i am running 64bit and there is no x-fi support. so i may switch to 32bit later. i have heard people say that 32bit is faster at this point but i haven't seen any numbers anywhere to confirm this
on the creative forums there are people that have tried many many different driver sets and install procedures to no avail for x-fi on 64bit vista build 5384. creative has always had terrible driver support; their vista beta driver is 6 months old. i guess we will have to wait until creative...
anyone have any general benchmarks of 32-bit vs 64-bit versions? i don't really know which one is the best to be running. running athlon 64 x2 4200+ cpu
also has anyone gotten an x-fi to work under the 64-bit beta 2.
i can't get the drivers to install at all. how did you get them working?? the creative x-fi beta drivers for vista 64-bit are six months old and according to people on creatives forums don't work with beta 2! anyone know how i can get anykind of sound out of this xtrememusic x-fi card?
here is the convo i just had with dell chat
5:42:11 PMDeepinder_01110990 I have checked my records for this issue. We are working on this and are developing the Drivers which will resolve this issue.
5:42:34 PMDeepinder_01110990 Also I am providing you a Link for the latest updated driver...
i agree with you, it looks dirty like a film is on the screen. my friends rear projection HDTV is the same way, i told him he should clean it then i realized thats how its supposed to be; the 2007 is very similar to that. was the 2005 any different?
i do think its better than the glossy...
i ordered mine from excaliber earlier this afternoon but they called and said they just sold the last one right before me but to hold on he might be able to find some more he'd call me back. i really would like to get the board by friday because all my other components are arriving then and i...
why are they so expensive?? do you think it will be 'regular' price tomorrow and they are just trying to fleece some people who want to be the first to order it?
fingersniffer, i am wondering the same thing... i have ordered everything for my new build except the mobo, i am hoping to be able to order the A8R32-MVP tomorrow (when the 580 is supposed to be announced) and get it overnighted... i am curious about the a8n vs. a8r performance though
interesting vertiggo, thanks for the test
i know you have ATI for video, i think i am also going to get the X1900 , what do you speculate about A8N32-SLI vs. A8R32-MVP using the X1900XT. i know anandtech had an article on the MVP that they took down where they compared the A8N32-SLI and...
zebo, is there a reseller you recommend getting it from. half of them say its out of stock or not released yet or seem somewhat sketchy. buy.com has it for $789... anywhere better?
xtknight, are you sure? i read though most of the manual.pdf and did a search of it and nothing turned up... this would be a long term purchase for me so HDCP is important. (its either this or waiting for the 2007fpw from dell) thanks a lot for your help
edit: oh i just ran across an...
where did you get the NEC from zebo? Also i see that there is a 20WMGX2-BK which is apprently supposed to be black, although the picture on NEC's website shows a silver monitor with just a black speaker bezel, do you know if the 20WMGX2-BK is really all black?
I think i may actually spring for the X1900XT . What do you all think, 2x 74 gig raptors or one 150gb raptor?
Or on the other hand i could downgrade a bunch of components and go with a 24" monitor instead of 20". I would like to keep the budget under around $2500. I am having trouble...
nice setup you have yourself... does the case still look cool sitting upsidedown? are you running those raptors in RAID?
i was going with the 7800GT because of the price/performance, and i figured i could add a second one for pretty cheap after the 7900 is out. I know its not due out until...
Will someone with an Asus A8N32-SLI in a normal case please do me a humongous favor by running a test with your case upsidedown to see if the temperature on the motherboard (northbridge and southbridge) changes much at all. I am considering mounting the board in an inverted case and on forums...
or i could go with a different board like the DFI lanparty. but i would really like to use the asus A8N32-SLI with the lian li v1100. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
I am putting together a new system with the asus A8N32-SLI motherboard. I am looking for a quiet case and have been looking at both the P180 and v1100. take money out of the equation.. i like the v1100 much more (aesthetically) but am worried about the inverted motherboard design on the v1100...
