Do the words "Professional Integrity" mean anything to Anandtech? How often have we seen schedules come out only to be disappointed the day the review is meant to be up? I've lost count.

    uATX Update

It might have something to do with Priorities. uATX has made great strides in recent years, but ATX is still considered the mainstream, at least in the eyes of AnandTech readers. There was a 20 page review of the DFI UT P35-T2R last week by Gary. The same week that the third uATX review was...

Who has the best onboard IGP?

It seems as if heat is a common theme in this generation of chipsets. That's probably not surprising given the amount of features they're now integrating. I wonder if we will ever get to a point in the industry where chipsets require the same amount of cooling as Quad Core CPUs. The next...

    uATX Update

I couldn't wait any longer (after 7 months of waiting) and ended up putting in an order for an Abit AN-M2HD. From all the comments that I've read from Gary and Jarred, the Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H is their current favourite after testing. The Abit AN-M2HD is a close second. I went for the Abit...

    uATX Update

If I wasn't in need of a new PC, I would probably have given this generation of uATX motherboards a miss. They all seem to have problems in one way or another. On top of that, vendors don't seem all that interested in addressing issues with their boards unless they are getting bad coverage...

uATX integrated mobo for linux use

I am also looking for a uATX board for linux. From all that I've read (especially at http://www.phoronix.com), it would seem as if: - Nvidia and Intel chipsets have been the way to go as they have better drivers for linux - The edge might go to Nvidia as Intel aren't as quick in releasing...

    uATX Update

Gary, I know I am being selfish here, but can you please publish the AMD690/NV7050 reviews before the NV7150. As you have said, the NV7150 are quite problematic right now and it would make more sense to me to concentrate on boards that can actually be purchased when the review is published...

We can pretty much eliminate the possibly that parts 2 and beyond won't appear early next week as it will be dominated by articles on AMD Barcelona. Guys, while we're waiting for the article, what do you think is the best AMD based mATX motherboard? From what I can gather, the top two contenders are: Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H (AMD 690G Chipset) and Abit AN-M2HD (Nvidia 7050-630A Chipset) The Asus M2A-VM HDMI is probably a close...

So FireTech, which board(s) have you got your eyes on? I've got mine on the Abit AN-M2HD. I am looking for a linux based solution. Until ATI/AMD proves me wrong, NVIDIA seems to be better when it comes to Linux drivers. It would be interesting to see how this board stacks up in the review.

Difference between Intels G33 and G35 chipsets??

Thanks for the update Gary. I was going to rule out the G35 and wait for the Eaglelake chipset instead. But, if manufacturers are designing boards with the newer ICH9DH chipsets, then the G35 may just come back into contention. The Eaglelake is not slated for release until Q2 2008, which is...

I am guessing that they have decided to skip the G33 chipset altogether in favour of the upcoming G35. If you plan on using a discrete graphics card, then there's probably no reason to wait for the G35. Personally, I am waiting to see how the G35 fairs against the 690G.

Perhaps Gary received some motherboards based on the Nvidia MCP73 chipset (GeForce 7050/630i for LGA775) on the last minute and is now trying to incorporate them into the review. From all that I've read (and googled), it looks as if none of the current generation M-ATX IGP motherboards are...

Well, I couldn't hold out any longer and went with the Asus M2A-VM HDMI. Let's hope I don't regret my decision. I don't know what's holding Gary up, but I sure hope it's not because the boards are not really ready for mainstream use. Manufacturers shouldn't really be releasing them to the...
