I have 2 of these drives in a raid...They are blazing fast. Remember----These are SATA II drives whereas most SATA drives (Like the 250gb) are only standard SATA...

My overclocked Opty 165 runs about 40c under load. The big 120mm fan does run quiet. The only problem I had with the Typhoon was mounting it to the DFI board....It needs longer screws (any hardware store) to mount it to the dfi board...I never ran any other heatsink so I can not compare to...
I am using this one to power my system:
Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W Power Supply

Specs of system in sig.
Something really is wrong with those temps...Mine never goes over 45 under full load and that is with the voltage up'd (6 hours dual Prime95). It sounds like maybe the HS isn't mounted properly. At stock speeds (not overclocked) mine would run below 30 idle and around 35-36 under load. Are you...
I am about to put my new P180 together. I see that in the lower drive cage that the HD's sit vertical instead of the usual horizontal position. Is there any data that this is good or bad ( or indifferent) for the operation or MTBF of a hardrive when a HD is positioned this way?
Just...
According to the SKU# from the CompUSA ad this is not a SATA drive:

(7200RPM, Internal, ATA/133)
PM will prob not fly.....
Will have to let you know in a few weeks what this stepping will do.....Have the same CCB1E from Monarch (Combo deal), but have to get a few more pieces for my new rig yet.....Some decent HD's and a case....
if going with Antec, might be better of getting this one.....Same specs plus extra fan and a bit cheaper with rebate:

I actually prefer a case without a door also....Use the DVD burner a lot, so it's a pain having to open a door all the time...Side window not that much of a concern...Heck, I usually have the side cover off my Antec server case most of the time anyway...lol
I know this is an older discontinued case but this is still one heck of a deal...I own one of these personally and they are built like a tank...Can still find these on merchant sites for around $120-$145 shipped..
Shipping is $29.00 through Antec.
$78.00 total is great deal for a server size...
Does anyone have any opinions on this case? Looks like a fairly new model from Ultra. Can not find many reviews on this case. Can be had for around $82 + shipping from Provantage.
Specs seem pretty decent.
I need a decent case my new Opty 165 build but not really willing to spend upwards of...
They do have some TWINX2048-3200PT Corsair 2GB PC3200 400MHz 2-128x64 XMS TwinX Dual-Channel DDR for 169.99 + shipping...Regular price for these is around $200..Not to bad of a deal, but not sure how well these would overclock...Timings on these are 3-4-4-8...
