GT200b to launch at Nvision 08 (Aug 25-27)

Depends on how slight the clock increases are. The reference GTX 280 is clocked at 602 core/1107 memory/1292 shaders, obviously the shader clocks are the weak point of the 65nm GTX 280. I think if they could get those clocks closer to the 9800GTX at 670mhz core/1688mhz shader, it would be quite...

    ATi 4870 X2 (R700) previews thread

I have used 8800GT SLI, and 9800GX2, the GT's in SLI had a bit of micro-stuttering when AFR was used. The 9800GX2 did not have as much micro-stuttering, it still had a little but far less noticable. If micro-stuttering is indeed solved with the HD4870X2 that is good reason to look into buying one.

9800 gx2 and cooling the damn thing

Seems like watercooling is the only way to cool this thing further at the moment.

    New Raptor

I've owned 2 x 150GB Raptors in Raid-0 and now currently own 2 x WD6400AAKS in Raid-0. It is not I who needs convicing of the benefits of faster access times in gaming. The difference between 12.4ms access times and 8.0ms access times are sometimes noticed. Try loading up a saved game of...

    New Raptor

Well for a gamer like me the Raptors I had previously were faster at loading times than the 6400AAKS drives I have now. Don't get me wrong, these 6400AAKS drives are fast but in many cases such as Windows boot times, and loading screens in games the faster access times of the Raptors had its...

    New Raptor

The seek times alone would make a big difference.

    New Raptor

Considering that these new Raptors are comparable in performance to SAS drives its not really that bad of a price. Not only are these new Raptors faster than any other SATA drive, they also run cool, and have low power consumption needs. It is obvious that Western Digital put a lot of effort...

    9800GTX 1GB Performance Preview?

Thats good to know. Some games like Oblivion with Mods are very memory hungry and prove that having more Vram then 512mb is not overkill.

9800GX2 is about to reach End of Life

If the leap in performance of the 9900GTX in relation to the 9800GX2 is anything like the leap from 7950GX2 to 8800GTX then the 9800GX2 will definatly be obsolete.

2GB or 4GB of RAM for Vista?

I do, Vista is snappier, and smoother running with 8GB vs 4GB.

evga 8800 GTX KO Superclocked vs. Radeon HD 3870 X2

You have an 8800GTX KO which is closer in performance to the 8800Ultra then to the stock 8800GTX. With that said, and in my opinion I've seen too many real world game tests where the 8800Ultra still beats the 3870X2 to justify switching. I think that unless your favorite game is 3dMark06 that...

    Nvidia 9800 GX2 reviews here

Doesn't that test also show the 3870X2 (never mind Quadfire) to be a failure as well? I mean in that test at 1680x1050 the 3870s in CF, 8800GT in SLI, and 9600GT in SLI beat it for less then the cost of one 3870X2. At 1920x1200 in that test the 3870X2 is matched by the 8800Ultra which anybody...

    9800GTX whoops an 8800Ultra

I'd like to see if the 9800GTX still whoops the 8800Ultra with AA/AF settings on, if it does then I'll be impressed, since that is where the G92 cards still showed weakness compared to the 8800GTX/Ultra.

9800GTX with vmod at 900/2268/1269, air cooled

It does seem to have faster memory then the 8800GTS, but other then that it seems the appeal of the 9800GTX is Tri-SLI with a G92 card.

    9800GTX Pictured

GT 200 snap LAST R&D XFX

Yes, perhaps there will be an Ultra or something with 1024mb DDR4. By the way if this is all true, thats one heck of a score considering the CPU is stock clocked.

Product cycles have been longer and longer

I'm sure with 112sp instead of 64sp the 9600GT would spank the 8800GT.

How to get temp off of 8800GTS (g92) ?

For one thing it allows you to overclock the Shader Clocks on the Nvidia 8800 series cards.

9800 GX2, too little too late?

Last time they tried this was the 7950GX2 which was replaced at the top by the 8800GTX only a few months after. I have faith that the 9800GX2 like the 7950GX2 is just there to hold us over until the next gen GTX comes along.

    GeForce 9800 GX2

This thing would be awesome if they could finally get quad-SLI working right.

What's so great about the e8400?

Right now I'd say if you are in the market go with a Dual-Core E8400 or E8500 depending on your budget. As for Quad-Core or more I'd wait until Nehalem which is due out at the end of the year (If Intel stays on schedule).
