That board is only really appealling if I don't succeed at setting up the NAS. My current system is maxed out on internal drives and I have three external 1.5gb drives, two of which are eSata. My goal is to offload most of that into the NAS and have only a couple drives internally in my...

    WRT54G w/DD-WRT Headache

I've tried both the WRT54G v8.2 and the WRT54G-TM with similar results. The v8.2 has the micro version but the TM version has the latest full version. Is the Linksys Firmware that much more efficient that switching to DD-WRT on these models drops the performance by almost 40%?

    WRT54G w/DD-WRT Headache

Thanks everyone. I changed the DHCP range on the Actiontec to 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.249. Leaving 250-254 available for any routers I use for the WDS. That took care of the problem of not being able to access the web configuration pages. I haven't set up the WDS yet because I've been...

    WRT54G w/DD-WRT Headache

So if I leave it configured as I have it and simply change the DHCP range in the Actiontec to end at 192.168.1.253 and then assign the Linksys an IP address of 192.168.1.254 that will allow me to see the Linksys?

    WRT54G w/DD-WRT Headache

If I have the Linksys set to 192.168.5.1 does that put it into a different subnet from the rest of the network that is in the 192.168.1.XXX range? I set it to 192.168.5.1 to get it out of the DHCP range of the Actiontec router.

    WRT54G w/DD-WRT Headache

OK, here is my setup: I have Verizon FIOS with the Actiontec Router acting as MOCA and servicing my wired devices. I have the Radio disabled in the Actiontec and instead have a Linksys WRT54G v8.2 connected from port 1 of the Actiontec to port 1 of the Linksys. The Linksys has a static IP...

    Linksys WRT54G-TM T-Mobile Edition - $19.99 B&M

They have these in my area and I have a friend on T-mobile so the buying it as a gift worked like a charm. Would using this as an access point connecting to my existing Linksys router increase the signal strength for a computer located at the current edge of my range?

    Can't Overclock

    Can't Overclock On A Gigabyte P35-S3G

That symptom is not unique to your motherboard. I've experienced and read about similar problems on most of the P35 boards. Some have found unique ways to resolve it while others just give up and replace the board or live at stock speeds. If you can give more info about your setup I will try...

Went from 400mhz FSB to 410mhz

I have had several different issues but a couple of them are right in-line with what you're experiencing now. Currently, if I even enable the "CPU HOST CLOCK CONTROL" the system post fine but reboots after passing the memory test and when I go back into the BIOS the clock control is disabled...

Went from 400mhz FSB to 410mhz

Welcome to my world. I've had similar behavior with my Gigabyte MB since I bought it a year ago. After reading everything ever written on every P35 based Gigabyte board I think your are experiencing BIOS corruption. If you had the system running fine at your previous settings but after a...

    Can't Overclock

dbcooper1 That is how I set it up for each of my initial attempts. On the Gigabyte MB you select a multiplier for the RAM frequency so when I select 333 for the FSB and a 2.4 multiplier that runs the RAM at 800 which is it's rated speed. As for voltages, I start at stock which the MB...

    Can't Overclock

No I haven't tried other RAM. I don't have any and if I need to buy more I doubt I keep this setup. I have tried all 4 sticks one at a time and they work fine and pass every test I've ran. (All 4 are identical 2gig sticks.) As a side note I can run all 4 at the same time if I don't overclock.

    Can't Overclock

With only one stick of RAM I'm solid with everything default except changing FSB to 333, PCI-E to 100 and the multiplier to 2.4 so that the RAM is at 800. When I go to two sticks I've tried everything. I tried raising only the Vcore all the way up to 1.5, I've tried several combinations of...

OK, this is probably a very simple problem but it's kicking my butt. I have a large (really large) collection of various old data CDs that I'd like to convert to DVD to save space in the closet. I simply want to copy all the CDs contents to a Hard Drive, reorganize and reburn to DVD. I'd...

    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Rev 2.0 Problem

Mondoman, I agree with you to a point. The changing of the multiplier from 6 to 9 when the system is under load is a normal function. What is not normal is that it would ignore the FSB setting I made in the BIOS. When I would run Orthos the multiplier would go up to 9 and then fall back to 6...

    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Rev 2.0 Problem

Disable both... What have you done in your attempt to overclock? Many of the setting that have an auto option need to be set manually. Also what is your CPU and RAM? PCI-E needs to be set manually to "100" System Memory Multiplier should be Manual and set to allow your memory to run at...

    Advice on upgrade/build needed.

    Advice on upgrade/build needed.

Thanks all for the responses. BlueAcolyte, I really appreciate the specifics. I was considering either the Q6600 or E6750 as my new CPU. The RAM is a little less obvious. I was thinking of shifting to XP 64 and installing 2x2gb of DDR2, but which sticks is the problem. I was looking at...
