I have Vista 64 Ultimate and a few-year-old Lite-On DVD burner running by itself on the IDE controller. When I put vista to sleep and then resume, the system hangs for a bit and the DVD is no longer listed as a drive. If I do a full reboot the drive is there. Any ideas?

I have an Athlon X2 3800 on an A8N-E and I'm swapping it out for a P5Q-E and E8400. Is there a way I can do this without having to wipe out Windows? I'll probably just reformat but I'm interested in what would be involved to keep the OS.
