I know bit of overkill and could use good 750w but the price difference not much here.
I only got 600w with 2 12v rails at 18a which is cutting it close for current setup. Just be good to know that cpu at 100% and both gpu at 100% there would still be spare power . Not that that happens but...
Looking at upgrading graphics soon looking at ,
1000w silverstone st 1000nv 2 12v rails at 35a each ,operating temp 0-40c .
1000w silverstone olympia op 1000-e one 12v rail think 70a coninous up to 50c .
or could pay little bit more for Corsair hx1000w 2 x 12v at 40a.
Will probabily run...
Although you would need quad core for 11k-12k score since cpu has such high rating. Whats your fps in graphics tests. If just installed maybe driver has not installed right.
To get mine 24 hr stable i had to increase mch voltage and fsb overvoltage control. At times prime would run 9 hrs but then be gone. Although i think i have f6 bios. Although still would play games well. Will get to point with no increase in mch or fsb just increasing cpu voltage may not help...
You need 38 northbridge to get 2 x 16 . 35 northbridge reverts to 1 16x and one 4x with two cards as on link above on my other post. Im pretty happy with mine on my Ga-x38-dq6 . But when i brought in New Zealand 8800gt etc where quite a bit more. Single n-vidia cards very good performance and...
I wouldn,t crossfire read this http://www.geekstogo.com/forum...80459.html&pid=1113480
I nearly did that. then people wonder why it doesnt scale well on their setup. If you want two cards much better to get 3870x2 or better 9800x2.I would just by 9600 or 8800 and wait for next generation
I enabled smart fan control after my overclock could gain only 50-90mhz turning it on.
Most of the time nice and quiet.( exept full load and ambients above 22 c)
WAIT for the new cards . Ati should beat the ultra and i bet nvidia will top them.
At least if you wait you wont kick yourself later. Im waiting , and have not picked which camp . Even though my board only able to do crossfire. Nvidia should release one powerfull single card.
If you want overclocIk I would get after market cooler. Mine vid 1.25 at 3.420 and i hit 63,63,60,60c on prime small ffts . Good cooler should easy make 3.200 maybe more.
Heres a link to temp guide , if interested i like this one. http://www.tomshardware.com/fo...core-temperature-guide
I had difference on temps over 10c as well on my first install mainly one core really high and it was because one of the pins wasnt fully down. If you undo them should be able to tell if one or two are not tight like the others.
Hope that helps
Temps very high i would redo. Id say one or two of pins on cooler are not fully down , you could check that first. I had thermalright mst-6775 cooler at 3ghz vid 1.25 and load temps bout 64 that is a push pin as well. You may want after market cooler to overclock. Heres a link to good cpu...
Unistalled 8.3 (all ati components)and installed 8.2 .
Ran 3dmark06 8.2 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=6207469

3dmark06 8.3 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=5873845

Never noticed difference myself. That shows it.
Cards at 720/999 both tests
Wonder why...
Go to nvidia control panel , adjust image settings with preview, select performance. That makes difference on my laptop 7150 dual at 1.80 and i score 4000. Im sure you can get a bit more than that.
Run one hard drive 4x 120mm fans one 90mm fan two 3850 graphics card one dvd drive. Mainly wondering if new 4000 series radeon was tpd 120w would my power supply be able to feed them since 12v2 is 216 watts , or do they get some of their power from motherboard.
I have coolermaster atx 12v rp-600-PCAR
+3.3v 25a +5v 30a +12v 18a +12v2 18a -5v 0.8a -12v0.8a +5fsb 2.00a
Thinking of upgrading 3850,s when 4000 series come out. Current cards 96tpd and new one looking at rumoured to be 120tpd . 18 x 12v =216 . What power supply would you recommend if this...
Ran prime 24 hours. Have speedfan configured so it shows same temp as core temp. Speedfan shows what the max temp you hit. Cpu hit 56 core 0 68 core 1 68 core2 64 core 3 64 . And 56 still quite a way from thermal specifications of 71. Can overclock more but happy at that gives some room for the...
Clocked my q6600 to 3.420 20 degrees ambient and under hottest core 61-63 running small ffts on prime and at 27 degrees ambient hottest core 68. I live in New Zealand doesnt get hotter than that often. I assume that would be safe temps overclock.
What are you temps , is mine quite safe...
