upping my voltage on my corsair as well as tightening my timings has had no negative results but I will have to run memtest tomorrow to get a better idea
I was using one stick of the corsair when I failed prime95. I think that I am going to try manually setting my voltages and timings and see if that improves anything.
Well I did install off of an SP2 cd, however I did fail a prime95 test and I am thinking that I might have memory problems. Do you know how I could figure out if its my memory or not?
I recently got my rig together and booting and even had windows loaded. I then noticed that while installing drivers sometimes the machine would reboot twice instead of just once when installing things. I passed it off as being a hardware nuance until I got stuck in never ending reboot loops a...
Well it looks like the nightmare is over :D
I got an Antec 850W PSU, it tested good with all voltages and it booted the PC on the first try! Thanks for all the help and support that I have revieved on this site!
Well got the Antec unit and it tested good in all reguards. Looks like the Corsair was bad. My PC booted right up with the Antec. Thanks for all the help I have revieved guys :D
I have been having a build nightmare (I have a more general thread in the general hardware forum here) that may be PSU related.
I have a Corsair 750TX PSU and I tested it with a Coolmax PS-224 power supply tester. When I tested my 24pin connector with the 4 pin connector I got good readings...
I know that it is a bit of a read but I have had so much happen with this build that I need to be specific to find the source as I have tried so much and had no success. :(
Guys I need major help. I have been working on this build for over a week and I can't get it to work. I have tried two motherboards, two cpu's, and two sets of ram. No combination of the parts I have will boot and I can't figure out what is bad.

I alwready assembled the computer out of the case and was able to get it to boot one time with one stick of ram and my video card in. I then reasembled it in my case. It did boot in the case. I decided to change my fans around and tried to boot with 3 of my case fans...

Thanks a lot for all the sudgestions and new information guys. I really appretiate the help with this endeavor :D
I am going to turn in for the night and I will check back tomorrow. :)
I was under the impression that running different capacity ram moduals in your 2 ram slots would make it so that you couldn't run in dual channel mode. Am I wrong on that? If I install 4 gigs of ram and the OS sees less than 4 gigs will my memory still be running in dual channel mode?
Thanks...
Thanks a lot for the reply guys :D
First off videogames101 I appretiate you hitting on the LAN controllers issue that is basicly why I was looking at that motherboard, I am leaning to the plain P5Q now. :)
I really like the price and capacity of that WD drive that you guys sudgested but I...
Hello I am a first time poster and soon to be a first time PC builder and I was hoping that some of you guys would analyze the parts that I plan to use for my first build and answer a few questions that I had about PC building.
The purpose of this build is to create a powerful bang-for-buck...
