Can anyone recommend a wiki similar to Twiki that is wysiwyg - i.e. that has a rich text editor similar to a work processor including tables, underlining etc. but also with the collaborative properties of a Wiki.
TIA
That's a good idea, thanks!
How do I resize the C partition on the first drive - can DiscWizard do that?
I also wanted the second drive to be bootable so if the first drive fails (it's five years old) I don't have any down time. DiscWizard said it copied the Master Boot Record to the new...
Hi
I have about 10 partitions on an 80GB hard drive with Windows XP. Due to the fact that C drive is almost full I have installed a 160 GB Seagate drive and used DiscWizard to copy the partitions on the first drive to the new drive. That all completed ok. I then assigned in the BIOS that...
No, the class object is absolutely NOT temporary. Heap objects are never temporary. Your code won't result in corruption but it stands a good chance of leaking memory.
Anyone know any good free wiki host and or good forum host -
preferably (but not essentially) one without ads.
Preferably a host that backs up the database and allows it to be
downloaded and allows restriction on write access to the wiki.
Wikipedia lists these...
Running win xp pro, trying to run windows update, express, gives me an error - 8024402f - can't display web page. I don't see a solution on MS website. Anybody heard of this error or suggest what I could do. Thanks.
Hi
Using WinXP pro with all updates.
I'm using ntbackup to try and back up C drive to an external hard drive. For some reason, of the 314 objects in windows\system32\drivers, only about 50 are being included in the backup. I have volume shadow copy enabled. Any idea what could cause...
Well I tried it. Puppy Linux said it completed setting up the USB drive ok but it won't boot. My BIOS tells me that USB boot is enabled - I don't know if it actually works though. The Puppy linux installer had some more options to do with the master boot record but now Puppy Linux doesn't...
I would like to create a bootable USB flash drive for booting puppy
Linux. Currently I boot from CDROM. Puppy Linux includes the
ability to create a bootable USB flash drive. I have a Kingston 1GB
"migo" flash drive - it includes some software that provdes easy
synchronisation of files...
So do these layer 7 switches have thousands of physical connections to all the servers or just one very fast ethernet connection?
I'm guessing that when I submit a search request to google, all the routers between me and google are using hardware (ASIC) to route the message, which helps me...
How do these thousands of computers communicate? Presumably they each store a small percentage of the total web pages so how do the results of a search get pooled and how does the search request get sent to them?
With one billion searches per day that is approx 11,500 searches per second...
Does anyone know how google implements its search - (the web search, not the desktop search). I've heard they use tens of thousands of computers but how do they search so many web pages so quickly? Anyone know any details?
Thanks.
Thanks. I feel a lot happier about it now.
Any idea if the cloned drive will replicate the boot information i.e. when I set the new drive as the one to boot from will I get the Mandrake boot screen that I get with my existing drive and will it use the Mandrake OS on the cloned drive rather...
I guess I could give Norton ghost a try. Symantec website lists resizing partitions as a partition magic feature but not a Norton ghost feature - but obviously you're familiar with Norton ghost so I'll take your word for it, though I'm wondering if I might find partition magic useful. I've...
I have an 80GB hard drive with several 8GB partitions and also dual booting Mandrake Linux with Win XP and an OEM Windows license. My C drive is nearly full and my PC also sometimes experiences "crashes" to do with svchost. These crashes are possibly gone now (maybe due to a MS hotfix)...
I don't think the list of files I posted were crash dump files - those files are like 300 to 400 MB and that's the compressed size. The actual svchost crash dump files are tiny and in pchealth directory. The list of files I posted are actually in my trend micro internet security 2005...
I don't think monitors really have "performance" - there's like, "response time" and colour "quality" etc. If you read the reviews and comments here you'll probably see the 2005fpw is pretty much ok for games and is fine from all points of view. Don't know about the L90D. I suspect you...
and I've just discovered the times/ dates of the files match the times/ dates of the svchost crash-dump files that are in my Windows/pchealth directory so I guess it was the svchost crash that created them - so now I'm gonna delete them.

Hi
I have some mysterious large files that I've found that are in my Trend Micro Internet security 2005 directory. Trend micro support tell me these files are nothing to do with trend micro. They were last accessed in May this year. Any ideas what they are or where they might have come...
Thanks. My hosts file looks ok.
I've now heard that
"Sourceforge has blocked subnet ranges of IP's that affect Australia & New Zealand users. Apparently they did it as the result of a distributed DOS attack that they couldn't accurately pinpoint. "
It's been a problem for well...
Hi
I am unable to get to most of sourceforge website and also can't get to www.boost.org - most websites work ok though. I'm told the reason is probably because there's a block somewhere along the line with the IP address I have. Other people who have a cable connection and the same ISP as...
So would a Radeon 9600 PRO be ok? Any idea how much noise its fan would make - is it reasonably quiet?
Would the powercolor 9550SE also be ok - it's fanless. I've heard that fanless cards risk overheating. If it's not being used for games or movies but is powered on 24/7 , there...
Hi,
I've just bought a 2005fpw LCD monitor and need a video card that supports 1680 by 1050 resolution. I don't play games or watch movies on my PC. Dell support told me GEForce 5200 series was ok, and also X800 (expensive). I don't need a high performance card but I'm concerned the 5200...
