It was absolutely silent on my HD4870, even with fans on full blast. In a closed case though. Also, I kept the stock plate on to cool the VRMs.

So Swiftech has a link to a discontinued Micro rad with performance curves...

...and one of the curves shows that their rad can dissipate 140W of heat at 1 gal/min. The XSPC pump is rated at 200 Liters/hour or about 0.9 gal/min. Extrapolating...
So I've got a small case (LL V351) and would like to keep everything inside and water cool my 5870. The main purpose being to lose some noise and heat (inside the case). I'm thinking the XSPC single bay pump/rez combo, full cover EK block or equal, and a single 120 rad with a quiet fan. The...
I use SPDIF optical out on the mobo straight into my receiver? Video is sent directly to my 46" Samsung via HDMI. I read your specs and saw you're using z5500 and not a receiver. Sorry couldn't be of more help.

I think the fan only auto-adjusts if it's plugged into the video card...like the stock cooler. Of course there are other methods to accomplish that, but since the cooler is so quiet, just run the fans at max!

This guy had 3 - 23" Samsung displays. That's a lot of real estate...can only imagine what 3 - 28" displays looks like! Hope you get it working!

If you plan on crossfire, also be aware that some of these coolers will block the bridge connector. I loved my musashi for GPU temps, but it dumped a lot of heat into the case!

Also, what OS is the OP running...DX9/10 vs. DX11?
I just ordered an XFX5870 from TigerDirect, free shipping, no tax in Cali, for $399 with $33 BingCashBack. $366FTW...so tired of waiting on FERMI.

@ OP...is that 3-28" Hanns G monitors? I would love to see a pic of the Field of View in Crysis with that setup. I have one Hanns G and it's big...3, Hesus Christo!

Given all the speculation about Fermi cost/performance/yields, when do you think I'll be able to actually get one after launch? I know there's a ton of things at play to answer that question certainly, but if I get a rough idea, I can start socking away some cashish (i.e., $20/week from now...
I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-21THX and I'm trying to get my computer sound through the receiver. I'm sure the receiver OPT-2 input works as I've tried it via my comcast box. I've also installed the X-Fi on board drivers for the motherboard and made sure Windows 7 can see the SPDIF output source...
The manual for the M4A78T-E has some detailed setup in BIOS for enabling Xfire, Section 5.2.
I would try removing the NIC card and running tests.
Peace,
