    Considering a used Porsche Purchase

Maintenance isn't really that bad on 911s. If you don't track, you won't go through tires/brakes like crazy either.

CPO Lux car or new ?

Can't comment on BMW/Audi CPO, but for me it was 2 years from when you buy it if at any time you'd fall outside of the original 6 year warranty. I think a CPO is a must have for a luxury/sports car if you want that peace of mind.

CPO Lux car or new ?

I bought a luxury/sports car CPO that was 5 years old at the time last year and couldn't be happier. Maintenance for the marque has a reputation for being relatively inexpensive though. I think only you can answer whether or not you think spending that chunk of money on a car is "wise" or not...

I think I'm going to buy a Corvette

I say do it on the condition that you'll have a garage... I was in a similar situation and decided that a garage is a must have, as well as comprehensive insurance!

    Problems with E8400

I heard turning LLC on decreases the Vdroop effect (however in my case it actually seems to be inverse Vdroop). I originally had LLC off but I turned it on and didn't run into any problems until I cranked up the FSB. If you don't mind me asking Dopekitten, what are you running at?

    Problems with E8400

I've been running stable my E8400 @ 3.8GHz (9x442 @ 1.3V in BIOS) with temps at 37/52 so I decided to push for 4.0GHz (9x445 @ 1.3V in BIOS) but I got BSOD in Windows. I then tested voltages up to 1.33125V and I was still unstable, so I gave up and went back to my old settings for 3.8GHz, only...

*Official* ASUS P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 Board Thread

I think all you have to do is put the BIOS on the flash drive and hit ALT+F2 at the start and it will go into EZ Flash 2. I just did that yesterday for updating mine.

*Official* ASUS P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 Board Thread

I just got an E8400 and the P5Q-E and I'm running it at 9x400 @ 1.25(in BIOS, 1.232 in CPU-Z load) but I feel like my temps are little high. They're at 45 idle and 60 load from Speedfan. I read that E8400 were having funky temps but I'm not sure how to deal with it. I got the 803 BIOS and I'm...

    New PC build

Here's an update on my situation. I plan on ordering them from Newegg after the 8th. The changes I've made to the first build are: Mobo: Asus P5Q-E Cooler: Xigmatek HDT-S1283 Memory: 8GB G.Skill DDR2 1000 PSU: PCP&C Silencer 750 GPU: ATI 4870 I know the PSU is a little more than I...

    Lian Li PC61 owners

Yeah that's the one I'm talking about. I read on Newegg that it was a little longer than the standard so I got concerned but it looks like it shouldn't be a problem from what you're saying. EDIT: I just looked at the specs for the PSU on the PCP&C website and it said it's 7.1'' deep, so it's...

    Lian Li PC61 owners

I was wondering if any of you ran into problems with a longer PSU like the PCP&C Silencer 610 and the top mounted fan on the case? If you don't have the PSU in question, would it be possible to provide a measurement of the length between the back and the fan? I'm having trouble getting...

8GB (4x2GB) no problem with 64bit Vista install?

Are you overclocked by any chance? Because I plan on doing some overclocking, I really hope this setup will work.

8GB (4x2GB) no problem with 64bit Vista install?

I read that certain individuals were having problems installing 64bit Vista with 4GB of RAM and had to install it with 2GB first, patch it to SP1 before putting in the other stick. My question is, having the SP1 slipstreamed with the install disc should alleviate this problem right? Another...

    Which motherboard for E8400?

I am going to build a new system with E8400 this summer and was wondering which P35 motherboard you guys are using? I've read around and saw that while most boards with the P35 chipset offer similar performance, some are better than others for overclocking (which I intend to do). My first choice...

    New PC build

    1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing. Primarily gaming 2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread $900-1200 3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from. USA 4. IF YOU have a...

    [Retired] The LCD Thread

I just purchased the DS 263-N from Newegg as well. I know about Newegg's 8 dead pixel policy and was wondering if there's any way around that if I get, say, 7 dead pixels? I don't know if I misread from somewhere but I think I saw that it might be possible to get another monitor directly from DS...

    [Retired] The LCD Thread

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for in regards to the PS3. I also wanted to confirm that the monitors being shipped out now all come with the polarizer, basically alleviating (at least somewhat, hopefully) the dark purple border problem?

    [Retired] The LCD Thread

I've been looking at LCD's for a long time and haven't found anything that I liked until I recently saw the comments on the 26 inch DoubleSight. I've been an avid CRT user (been on the same old Trinitron for 8 years) but I think I'm ready to make to switch because I just got a PS3 and I wanted...

    New clicking Raptor

I just purchased a new OEM Raptor X recently. Finally, it arrived today and I decided to hook it up. All was well until 20% into the formatting process, where it started making clicking noises and the process halted eventually. I was then unable to access the drive from BIOS upon reboot. I tried...

    Home networking problem

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, the AP I have only has 1 RJ-45 port as it's meant to be primarily a compact traveling kit.

    Home networking problem

My current home network consists of a main server computer with 2 NIC's. One of them is directly connected to the cable modem. The other one is connected to a 4 port 10/100 hub that 2 other computers connect to as well in order to gain access to the internet. The reason I have it this way is...

Checking for compatibility before the buy

I've decided to swap the Raptor with the WD SATA II 250GB and the DFI with the EpoX. Also, I've switched the PSU from the Aspire to Antec Truepower II 480W and I hope this will all work out nicely. Dropped the generic brand and went with BFG also.

Checking for compatibility before the buy

Hi all, it's been around 4 years since I've last done this but I'm about to build a new gaming system. I do NOT intend to overclock. I was wondering if this looks like a decent build and more importantly if the machine as a whole will work well without any problems. Here's what I've decided to...
