Alright, problems have been periodic and repeated as traffic overall has really been up on the sites. We're facing behind the scenes technical issues all over everything (not network though, just software related and/or hardware restrictions), so just so you know it's not forums or fusetalk...
mb, thanks. I replied too. I can confirm lately there's been no additional network issues, and since we have over a 99% success rate I can only assume it's software related. Some have mentioned Kaspersky/AVS as a culprit, I've also seen IPS systems and firewalls cause problems as well.
Today was an unusually busy day with 3x the normal load on the main site due to a few articles being released so that caused a few problems. That has also since been resolved.
Network issues are clearing up and escalating these issues are helping, so keep the traces coming.
Thank you all for the info, you have been replied to accordingly. Most problems are in the Level3/GBLX network, however there have been repeated routing problems with Savvis as well. I have escalated these issues to NOC so they can contact the appropriate ISP's.

The overall 'health' of the forums is something that has not had a lot of attention on the software side of things for quite some time. I too have been promised this will be taken care of but it's out of my hands.

Well, I'm going to be working on the replacement servers. It's time to retire the old APPRO's as well as bring in yet another database server, so we have some beefy hardware to replace that with. These changes won't effect the frontend much at the moment, but it's paving the way for the future...
An upgrade is in the plans for the future, but as Duality mentioned it's pretty low on the list. There's a lot going on behind the scenes and we're working towards improvements, but it will happen.
No, I'm not Jason Clark. That has been clarified in the past. He still posts under the same handle he always has. Although I cannot comment on the prices and reasons for choosing the forums software as I am not involved with that aspect of the business.

We were experiencing the problems with the dynamic server over the weekend, although that has since been resolved. As far as I can see everything is running very smooth now.
