I am about to build a server, mainly for hosting virtual machines. I plan on using Citrix Xenserver, and having a file server - Citrix XenApp lab, etc.
With that, I want 32-64GB RAM. I am hoping for G34 based Bulldozer-based Opterons so I can take advantage of low 8GB ECC Registered prices...
Wondering if anyone has this NAS device, with the newer Seagate 1.5 TB drives?
Intel initially claims support for up to 1 TB drives. Not sure if there would be a BIOS issue, etc. with the machine but initially looking at a 4-drive approximately 4.5 TB usable RAID 5 setup
I am wondering about 3 of these in an Intel SS4200 NAS? I am looking for a NAS with around 3 TB, and was looking at getting a 4 drive 1 TB system for 3 TB usable. With 3 of these, I can get 3 TB for the same price.

Totally. This is exactly what I am...

I picked up 2 of these awhile back with PS. I really like this case, a bit buttery aluminum but take a little extra care during the build and you are all set.
Just ordered mine this morning before I read about this warranty issue. Why is it that when I goto Fry's or order online I always feel that they are big scammers trying to get over on the consumer with every purchase?
I e-mailed them to see if they have any shipping options, they replied personally:
Thanks for the suggestion and recommendation. We always value
suggestions from our customers.
When we first got started we did offer that but it never became a
guarentee for the customers and they were...
FYI for everyone, X2-3800+ AM2 arrived today, retail unopened box. Added to new BIOStar MicroATX and Ultra MicroFly case and zooming. Killer CPU for $129 delivered. Don't know if they are seeding the market where possible, but gotta give HWRebuild dot com their props!
You think re-mounting the stock fan/heatsink with Arctic Silver 5 compound will make a difference? I may take a chance on the card, the Microfly is a bit bigger and seems to run things somewhat cooler than many other SFFs.
Thanks for the reply, your comments are in-line with what I thought as well. My only other possible issue is putting this into a SFF case (Ultra Microfly), and heat generation versus other cards in the price range.
The graphics card mumbo jumbo of part #s is really a head-spinner. I researched a few new builds I am doing, and it really appears the ATI X850XT based boards are still very good performers - I would say pretty warm for the money. This card beats out the 7600GT consistently...usually by a...
I jumped in on a X2 3800+ AM2 for $129 shipped this morning from HWRebuild.com. I received no less then 3 e-mails within an hour, including what appeared to be a non-daemon written message stating it will ship today and you got the last one in stock. Will update when received (fingers crossed).

LOL, ok...if I have to put a price on the black aluminum it might not be worth $300 :> Although, I can get this TV now.. from many reports the Westy 37" + sets have been OOS for many weeks.
I picked up a Sceptre 37", the picture was good...but I ran into the power problem many have been...
From what I can tell, the Westinghouse case is cheaper plastic versus audiophile type black aluminum for the EyeFi. Still, the Westinghouse comes out to be around $300 cheaper if in stock. A toss up...although I want a black TV as well :<
Sam's Club and Walmart are both selling this monitor (same company). AVS Reviews are pretty good, 47" 1080P monitor. Casing is black anondized aluminum - not cheapy plastic.

The video is interesting, one states ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M w/productivity ports for $25 but in the description the additional $25 also buys you shared RAM upgrade from 32 MB to 128 MB.
My reason for doing this was fairly simple. Leave system at work, go home to PC with Virtual PC connected to work via VPN. Having access to the Domain would give me all of the shares, etc. that I require. As it is, I just need to lug the notebook home to match my office connectivity. Not a...
Thanks for the reponse. Yes, looks too risky as the more I learned about the security channle and machine account password the more it appeared not to be worth the trouble.
I found this, which talks about the security channel in NT 4 (but seems possibly 2000 AD related as well):
For each Windows computer that is a member of a domain, there is a discrete communication channel with a domain controller.
Note An example of a discrete communication channel is the...
In a nutshell, I have a Virtual Machine running on a PC. In this virtual machine, I want to duplicate my notebook's Network ID, Domain membership, etc. I have tried several times (with the notebook offline), but get an authentication error.
Does anyone know if Windows 2000 AD grabs machine...

2. Do you work at the Pentagon Building?
