Hehehe, the title was an exaggeration. Nobody in their right mind would argue E5's can really compete with E8's clock for clock. I just think that at 4G it's good enough for games and if you want a significant performance increase for the money you spend on an E8 you might as well get a quad.

I still remember going from my 386SX20 to a PII-266, that was pretty massive.
Unbelievably the 386 still works, I was playing Angband on it a few years back just
for kicks.
Even though I have a Q6600 running smoothly at 3.6, I found myself
unable to give up the old E2140@3.4. In fact I found myself doing most
of my work and play on this backup pc while the quad is collecting dust.
That little E2140 is just my all time fav.
