It seems to me like they're floundering and not planning things out. A split like that is a huge marketing move, and then to just backpedal on it doesn't make sense. Unless they were gambling that people were going to talk about the name change/take back more than the price hike. I don't see...
If you want to see what ClearQAM channels you're supposed to be getting in your area, this site can help you. http://www.silicondust.com/support/channels/
TimeWarner is pretty generous, I get FX, TNT, and ESPN in HD, but it really depends on your provider/location.
Sounds like most of the channels you're getting are encrypted. The only way to view those are with a cablecard tuner, such as the Ceton http://www.cetoncorp.com/ or HDHomeRunPrime http://www.silicondust.com/products/hdhomerun/prime/.
After that, you can use Windows MCE 7 to record them...
Stupid idea, but sometimes it works. Unplug the PS from the wall for a few minutes, and then try again.
Beyond that, does it make any beeping noises? If so, you can look them up online and see what happens. Otherwise, start removing components one at a time. If you have dual sticks of RAM, try...
I actually used to work at two hotels in Jackson, NH (right new the base of Mt Washington and 30 min from that place).
You said you were looking for a Bed and Breakfast? Carter Notch Inn (http://www.carternotchinn.com/) is probably the best recommendation I've got. It has a hot tub, but I...
Let me clarify, folders that have duplicates, one without Windows.0 and one with. All Users also has a All users.Windows.0, so it can be moved. As does the Default User.
Gustavus doesn't have a Windows.0 Version, so it should stay as it's from the new install.
You should be able to move the old All Users folder to an archive drive then. Basically any drive where there is both a [folder name] and [foldername].Windows.0 can be moved.
The ones that just have [folder name] with no windows.0 should be left where they are.
I like the idea of the hardware navigation keys rather than touch keys. But I don't see the point of Motoblur.
Moot point either way, I have a rooted droid, not seeing anything there that'd be enough to upgrade.
Your documents and music and pictures and so on should be accessible by both.
Programs would generally have to be reinstalled. I'm not sure about the music samples, I don't know how the software for that works.
If you're using Outlook for your email, you'd have to have separate PST files for...
I agree with mbevolution. Vista and 7 can take forever to clear that screen.
There are also some issues I've seen with memory, you might want to try different memory or remove a stick.
I can't speak for the 3d modeling parts, but as a photographer I can critique that part.
64 bit is nice, Photoshop and Lightroom both have 64 bit variations that give you more memory to work with. However, unless you're working with 15mp raw files a lot, 64 bit isn't a necessity.
I would say...
Dumb question, is the keyboard known-good or is there anything resting on it?
from the manual "1 short: System boots successfully
2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long, 1 short: Memory or motherboard error
1 long, 2 short: Monitor or graphics card error
1 long, 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long, 9...
Sounds like a power supply or motherboard issue for the shutting down/restarting issue.
Look at the motherboard, are there any bulging capacitors or anything out of the ordinary?
Do you have a power supply you could swap out? It also could be something as simple as a loose connection.
As for...
Do you have the latest drivers for the chipset and controllers?
Also, what mode is the SATA's running in? If it's AHCI it can cause some problems with optical drives.
What is the sequence of the beeps? That should tell you what the problem is. Typically, it's a memory problem of some sort. The manual (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Manual_Model.aspx?ProductID=3306) should tell you what the sequence means.
You've already done most of what I'd recommend, but here are some ideas
Do you have the latest updates for the BIOS? Also, does the motherboard look clean with no swelled capacitors?
If your motherboard is one of the new ones with a power button built into the motherboard, disconnect the...
Windows Live Photo Gallery is free, offers some decent organizational options, and is pretty easy to use. (http://download.live.com/photogallery)
Irfanview is free as well, but I wouldn't say it's quite as user friendly, it depends on the tech-skills of your mother.
I'd say go Live Photo...
If you have an Android and bluetooth on your computer, you can use this: http://stickycoding.com/bluetooth-remote/android-bluetooth-remote
It has the most of the remote functionality built in, along with keyboard/mouse support.
I use MakeMKV which rips to an uncompressed MKV file, and thn when that's done I re-encode with Handbrake.
Both programs are free as well, which is nice.
