It seems to me that the lesson is not so much that poor immigrants are filling rich countries but that all "rich countries" eventually face declining populations regardless of ethnicity.
Take Japan and South Korea ... both were VERY VERY poor couple of decades ago... now their incomes have...
Other countries have similar value systems too..
Singapore , Hong Kong, Taiwan , South Korea..... They are much richer than mexico...
The oil rich countries have value systems that are completely against economic prosperity but that doesnt stop their growth. They just use the oil.
Value...
It has nothing to do with culture.. it has everything to do with the United States being the largest cohesive market with the most liberal trade regimes available. Economies of scale work better here ....
Mexico was actually more prosperous and progressive versus the United States till...
When a family man kills someone then usually the courts take either transfer the legal custody of the child to the mother or transfers custody to a foster home.

She has to be the most ambitious...
India CAN invade pakistan to "reclaim" the whole subcontinent. Kashmir is a small part of it. But it wont.
There have been three wars around kashmir and india has not crossed the Line of control even once.
As for pakistan trying to invade kashmir they tried it in 1965 and in 1999. In...

computer scientist = hacker
chemical engineer = bomb maker
Doctor= bomb maker ( hey even a psychologist would qualify since cognitive neuroscience is more about psychology)
Any other professions you would like to blame?

She has a degree in cognitive neuroscience... ie how the brain recognizes certain images...
Regardless of whether you believe whether or not the charges are true... her education never qualified her to be a terrorist... not to say that institutions like MIT or bandeis prepare you on...
1) If you read the article she was being charged with attempting to assualt to US army personnel. In afghanistan.
2) She disappeared from her home in boston.
3) It is this story that doesn't make sense for me.
"It seems extraordinary to imagine that four U.S. agents who'd gone to pick her...
Sure that just proves the FBI is incompetent...
Punishing innocent people is far worse...
a police state is not the solution....
If I am in a jury.. no way in hell this is going to fly with me..
the charges sound more like a B movie plotline
Which is stupid.
The modern economy is so complex that it is impossible to know who makes what.
Parts for cars, cellphones, TVs and even chemicals come from everywhere. Manufacturers specialize. It has nothing to do with cost/cheap labor but everything to do with how skills, knowledge...
Any bi-lateral surplus/deficit is meaning less. The aggregate trade surplus/deficit can be a cause for concern which is causing the dollar to depreciate which then in turn lowers the deficit.
Fundamentally the same principle. If a country can import something at a better price from abroad it should.
Prosperity comes from your ability to buy and sell at whatever price is mutually agreeable to you
Yeah for all the claims of genocide by india no one talks how kashmiri hindus and pandits were systematically cleansed or driven away. If india really wanted to eliminate muslims from kashmir they would have populated it with hindus like the chinese did with tibet
Also the entire elite of...
Yes but the post world war 2 era didn't look like that in most countries.
The rise of socialism did create the HUGE middle class but it also tied up an enormous amount of capital leading to stagnation.
Many people prefer that world where there were no winners and losers
I agree with you too.
The modern corporation is disintegrated into multinationals with subsidiaries spread across the world.
The income inequality is astounding everywhere and it is growing
He was a former militant ie terrorist in most peoples book.
India gave amnesty to most terror groups after 1994.
Which other country does that....
They could have participated in elections and what not but no.. they have to cause chaos everytime
I believe they are just concerned about farmers living on SUBSISTENT ( ie no markets) farms which is still about 40-60 percent of their labor force.

1) Should the banking industry be RUN by bush.
2) Slide of the dollar was long overdue. Trade deficit at 8-9 percent of GDP was unsustainable.

Okay ridicule first.
1) who would levy that tax. The United States where GE makes the turbines or europe where airbus is headquartered. What about tier-2 and tier 3 suppliers located in countries with no direct trade links to the OPEC. Remember supply down = workers loose jobs.
2) OPEC...
Recession real or not has nothing to with anything related to bush.
Consider the factors at play here
1)rising prices of oil. largely unexplained. Demand is up but no where near the number needed to push the price so high. Some manipulation by the OPEC is there definitely.
2)Lack of...

How insane is extending work authorization for foreign students anyway in your humble opinion. what net effect does it have on the economy on adding say 100,000-200,000 workers into the economy in YOUR opinion
You already do suck money out of foreign nationals anyway. We pay out of state tuition. Pay social w/o benefits.
lets see 80,000*20,000=1,600,000,000 (1.6 billion)

Read the article.
"present levels" of consumption are only to give you some idea of how much oil there is out there in alberta alone and around the world...
The whole world can afford a commuter lifestyle... many times over. many many times over.
Saudi Arabia alone has enough crude to feed the world for 80-100 years. Alberta Canada has enough in oil sands to feed the world for the next 300 years at present consumption levels and price levels...
Yeah McCain has the only sensible policies on trade. Its hard to see the benifits of free trade and zero "worker" protection but low subsudies and foreign tariffs keep inflation low....
The same can be said about immigration and in some ways they are two sides of the same coin but...
