I just upgraded my daughter's desktop to Windows 7. The current 9800 Pro card is not compatible with WIndows 7. I'm looking for a replacement AGP card that is compatible with Windows 7, can handle Aero, and uses no more power than the 9800 Pro. I also want the card to throw off no more heat...
I recently switched from Office Home and Student 2007 to Office Ultimate 2007. My computer now takes 25 to 30 seconds longer to bootup. Is this to be expected? Is there anything I can do to spped things up?
I'll try and check that tomorrow when I can get to another desktop. In the meantime, I've noticed that in Firefox everything is really, really large - while in Inter Explorer, all the Office applications, and everything else the fonts and type is small. Does this give any insight?
I am running Windoes 7RC, Build 7100. My monitor is an HP w2007. All of a suddent today, the display on my screen refuses to fill the entire screen unless I put the resolution on the recommended resolution of 1680 X 1050. At that resolution, I have to set the DPI over 160% for the text to be...
I'm looking to replace my HD4850 with one of the new AMD ATI cards coming out later this month. I'm interested in a card with graphic performance comparable to the HD4850, but that uses less power, and throws off less heat.
Suggestions?
I currently have "IDE" mode, and I would like to switch to "AHCI" mode when I install the final Windows 7 in October. I am also switching from my current 32 bit system to 64 bit.
I don't want to use the above method. How do I change the bios settings before I do the new install?
I am currently running Vista 32 bit with 4GB of ram (and yes, I know it doesn't use all of the ram). I will be upgrading to WIndows 64 bit, with the same 4GB of ram. I know it is recommended that one use more ram with 64 bit systems. My question is, given the 64 bit Windows 7 OS will take...
My home built pc started with an OEM version of XP Home, which I then used an OEM upgrade to get Vista Home Premium. I did an upgrade install of WIndows 7RC1. Will I be able to to a clean install of the Windows 7 upgrade ( I did the pre-purchase) over the RC1? Or will I have to re-install the...
I installed the 14 version. Are you saying I can use my key to make it permanent? I thought since it's a beta I have to update to the next beta when the 14 days are up.
Everything went fine - except NIS 2009 doesn't work with Windows 7RC (even though I am pretty sure I read some people with the Windows Beta version had no problems with NIS 2009). I found a 14 day trial version of NIS 2009 that is a beta for Windows 7.
Does anyone out there have NIS 2009...
I understand a clean install is better, but I'm going the upgrade route. What I'm looking for is an answer to my question about whether or not I need to uninstall the Vista creative drivers or not, followed by installing the beta WIndows 7 creative drivers. Ditto for my AMD ATI question.
I currently have Vista on my system. I have an X-Fi sound card that only has a beta driver out at the moment.
I plan on installing Windows 7RC using the upgrade route. Am I ok leaving the creative vista drivers on, or is it better to uninstall them and install the beta Windows7 driver...
I currently have Vista 32 bit. Can I download the 64 bit version of Windows 7 without doing a clean install?
...and yes, I do have a 64 bit capable mobo.
It's not remembering either the user name or the pw. It's not working on forums, such as this one. Everything was fine until I upgraded to IE8 from IE7.
The title says it. IE * keeps foegetting log in info - like my user name and password to this forum, not to mention other forums. I thought it was C Cleaner, so I excluded the cookies.index.dat file. That didn't resolve it.
Any one else having this issue? Any one have any solutions?
