i too would go with a 4850 hell i have one and it is great at that resolution which is what my dell 22" plays at. the 4850 also offers some nice options ie directx 10.1, hdmi audio, edge-detect so i'd consider that unless you have a bias for nvidia
for a psu get this antec neo power 500w for 49.99 free shipping at buy.com. the quality is great, extra headroom for pc, and its modular.

personally id say put that $100 towards a new cpu/mobo/gpu/ram because agp is pretty much outdated...
heres a code for the 640gb harddrive from western digital it makes it $80 for the drive, personally id get this since its so cheap and youre guaranteed the faster design
coupon code: EMCAJCGBK
the300 really isnt not that big ive built many pc's using that case before and its going to be pretty roomy since you will be using a matx board. the reason why the 640gb drive is faster is actually due to the larger 2 platter design, if you wanted to get a smaller drive then try the 320gb...
from my experience ati cards have usually looked better than their nvidia counterparts i currently have a visiontek 4850 and its running quiet and cool without an aftermarket fan
neither get the westrn digital 640gb, why? because it uses a 2 platter design which makes it much faster than the 500gb and as fast as the old raptors oh and having a largerhard drive doesnt hurt either.
yea slowspyder pretty much nails it, you canjt really lower the amount of heat being produced and puttng on a stronger hsf would probably only makes your room harder by expelling all of that heat into your room. you can try to have some kind of vacuum from inside your case out for window lol ive...
i wouldnt say its the best bang for hte buck anymore considering th exigmatek s-1283 is getting pretty cheap and outperforms this by alot but this is still a pretty good hsf, 3.6 is a pretty reasonable goal.
well i'd definately get this antec three hundred case over the hec that you chose, with free shipping it actually comes out to be cheaper and MUCH better. you should also get this gigabyte 780g boardover the biostar as gigabyte boards are better and the combo with the processor saves you like...
jacks build is pretty good though the integrated graphics is no where near the 780g but id consider spending extra cash on a 2x2gb ddr2 set as that will come in handy in the future and the gskill is 74.99 with free shipping after a code.
i'd rather spend the extra 9 bucks and get the 780g gigabyte board that comes combo'd with the 5000. its a little price to pay for a much better brand imo

well actually for the exact same price id go buy the 500w neo from buy.com with free shipping, since for the same price you get the 70w headroom
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202014022
well pushing it for what? what are the specs on the computer you plan on it running?
EDIT: ahh didnt see the link, yeah it should be fine since its actually at 80% efficiency but the 500w is for $59 so think about that for more headroom. im using that on a q6600 with a 4850
another thought is this antec earthwatts 500w rated at least at 80% efficiecy for much cheaper than that enermax
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817371007
id get at least this antec earthwatts 500w, i built a computer that ran a 4870 with this psu. its 80% certified but id get it soon
since the price bounces between 90 and 59. also what are the other parts that youre planning to get?

personally i love getting in there and building it myself, the money saving just a huge bonus. quad cores really dont offer a noticable gain in most everyday/gaming needs over a fast dual core. i have a q6600 G0 stepping and it honestly doesnt feel any different than my brothers e8400. also...
i wouldnt really think about going with i7 yet as the cost of the motherboards, cpu, dd3 ram is pretty high now and the more mainstream products wouldnt be out until q1 or q2 2009
yeah i would definately go with the e8400 since a fast dual core will serve your purpose better than a quad and go with a p45 motherboard since intel chipsets are usually more stable than nvidia and you dont need a second pcie slot. a 4870 is probably the best choice for that resolution, i can...
personally i'd either go up to a q9550 or go down to the q6600 anything in between isnt really worth it. also can you tell what is your budget, monitor size, and if you game or not because i wouldnt really go with dual graphics card setups unless your playing on a large monitor because single...
agreed with what slugbait said. if you play the waiting game then you'll end up waiting forever because something new is also coming out just wait until you really need it like its no longer keeping up with games you wish to play, etc. then you should get the best you can with your current budget.
