seriously if any of you guys are for hire to setup a domain once 2008sbs comes out... I have yet to find an IT firm in LA with anyone knowledgeable over ANY new MS products.
I assume sbs 2008 won't have the stupid max ram limit of 4gb? I have a dual quad core box w/ 16gb of ram waiting for sbs 2008, let's hope it will take advantage of all that hp
I think i'm going have our domain and user accounts rebuilt from scratch, our user permissions are a disaster and the original IT who set up our sbs 2003 server didn't know what he was doing and we've been slowly working through the mess for 5 years now. I'm going to use server 2008/exch 2007...
I have it setup to play around with at my house, but now I'd like to have it installed and admin'd at my company along with the new exchange and I can't find an IT in the entire LA area who has any experience with the OS yet...
Any of you guys who work in the industry supporting 08 yet or am...
I have a license for server 2003 small business, but am running into an issue here... does anyone know if SBS 2003 will recognize dual quad core processors? I am reading now that the OS only supports like 2 physical procs and 2 virtual procs... i would have 8 physical correct?
Do I need to...
Sorry to misrepresent, we DO have SBS2003, not normal server2003, and we use exchange...I have not, however, heard about this remote web workplace or anything else of relevance :/
Also, I am aware the networking hardware wont affect remote access speed, it was a different concern of mine...
Let me start by laying out our scenario. We are a CPA firm with 7 local Computers running Win XP Pro (all fairly new) and a 3.0ghz 4mb ram server running server2003 w/ 10 cal licenses.
We currently have an old Sonicwall router/fwall going into a crappy trendnet switch w/ 2 gigabit ports and...
I just made a 25 system purchase from dell... my company has a good relationship with them. I made good friends with the sales guy there...
you can NOT get the pricing you see on sites like sl*ckdeals or techb*rgains in bulk... those systems are going out at negative points usually... it's...
lol, was just about to post on this. Doesn't say they're exclusively going to amd, just that they will use some amd chips... would be ironic though if, now that intel actually has some competitive promise for the future, they dumped them.
as for sound card... i would go with an interface from RME... tell him to invest more and get something with NICE converters... RME is the closest thing to a deal that has decent converters. Else the mackie onyx 400f isn't bad.
who would want this thing anyway? Only reason to get apple lappys is if you are getting the powerbook or "pro" now... then you can take advantage of the great design and construction of those things... they are the ONLY laptops I've ever owned that STAY sturdy. The aluminum casing is a great...
i have been waiting for this beast... patiently I might add... Aside from the sony sz, I can't find an ultraportable dual core powerhouse machine... this could hopefully be it.
goddamn i've been waiting for a 12"ish macbook pro!#!@ or a dell ultraportable dual core... sony is the only real option right now... the lenovo doesn't have an optical drive, or i'd get it.
is the monitor a lower color bitrate like the 1907 ? The 1905 was a far better monitor than th 1907, i hope the same doesn't hold tru for the whole 07 series.
i have a daw w/ an opty 1.6 oc'd to 2.6 and a day non oc'd with a 3800... considering the small price difference, i would DEFINITELY go with an easily oc'd 165 for your next setup. on the opty box, I can run like 16 tracks loaded w/ plugins and it barely touches the cpu.... insane.
yeah... sli is completely useless to me. I dont game that much and if I do, i could never justify buying two cards, 1 top o the line is always sufficient for me.
The dfi ultra d seems to be the official recommended board round here... just curious, are there any spanking new boards that are super sweet?
I am building another opty 165 box w no need for SLI... my only requirement is integrated sataII. I would prefer something newer or better than nf4...
