Ok i just got a i5 750 and a asus cheapest P55 mobo. The mobo turned out to be defective so i had to RMA it, the new board will come around 15th of next month but a month long wait is too long. Now i have the following options:-
1.Get a i7 920+ x58 based system for gaming and keep the i5 750...
I was thinking about replacing my old P3 file server with a better system but i hit a snag the Atom 330 cums with a 945 which is well u know... For the 1100 i can buy a better mobo like the ones based on AMD 6xx/7xx or the Nvidia 7025/7050.
SO wht do u think the overall difference will be in...
Ok if the price of a P55 based mobo is similar to the price of a low end x58. Which one would you buy ??
The i5 does not have QPI but it has huge bump in the speed of turbo mode. If the i5 2.8ghz has the same price of the i7 2.66Ghz and same is true for the mobo hich ould you buy??
Since my CM 600W exploded i have to get a new PSU for 2-3 months so i dont really want to spend a lot.
I have found a PSU which seems to be good and well build it had the 80% rate sticker on it. The main thing i am worried about is the Amps on the +12v1 and +12v2 rails
They were rated at...
I have a Cooler master extreme power Plus 650W SMPS and have just attached a HDD and a PCI WiFi card to it. The system has a Athlon 4400+ and a basic micro ATX m/b. I bought a GTX 275 and gave it a try even when the min was rated at 40A SMPS for the card and mine had 36A.
To take a safer...
"A co-leader of Advanced Micro Devices? central engineering group said that the company was quite satisfied with its first so-called accelerated processing unit ? a chip that features both x86 processing core as well as graphics processing core ? code-named Llano.

I bought a Palit GTX 275 today and as soon as i replaced my single 4850 "Other one was taken by my brother" and hooked up the power wires and tried to switch on the pc the fans inside rotate just a bit and stop as if the smps has shut itself down to protect itself due to short circuit. I tried...
I have read several reviews of the dv2 but everyone of them had 3410. I wanted to see a review which focuses more on the battery and on board graphics.
Anyone seen such a review??
Raon Digital Everun Note kills the VAIO P without even breaking into a sweat.
I tried both of these at a Croma outlet. I was very very presently surprised with the Raon. The Everun Note seemed almost similar in former factor and it seemed a bit smaller than the VAIO P "YES SMALLER".
I...
There is a odd problem with my router. According to the logs my HP printer used the wifi router the whole night and i know for a fact that my printer was off and there is no way in hell that it could connect to my router.
The reason why i want MAC filtering is that in India its not legal to...
People really dont seems that interested in the 920!!
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articl...-920-overclocking.html
I was wondering what are the effects of OCing a 920 than say a 940. Does ocing 920 stress the components more than OCing the 940 because its BE and you just have to change one value.

This is actually correct for most part but then again X58 series were never mainstream kinda sad about the whole DDR3 thing tough. In my view the simplest thing would be to bring out the LGA 1156 processor "i5" into the market. Hell i...
A friend told me about Loongson 3 and that it will be able to emulate x86 now the only other processor that does this at the hardware level is Transmeta. So does that mean hardware x86 emulation is not Transmeta's IP??
I had bought the psu in 2007 along with 2900xt in 2007 but had switched to another psu later on in 2008. The CoolerMaster 850W Real Power psu worked well with 2900XT and 3870x2 but i had kept it in storage and bought a new 1200w psu to power the 3870x2 OC CF but sadly my 3870x2 died soon after...
I have been told to check ip's of several pc's in collage and because most are used by other i can not see the specific ip of each machine.
So i have to hook up my laptop directly with the server and first change my original ip to the ip 192.168.0.x and then run the "Repair" option from the...
I am getting a lappy from collage to complete a programming project. I get to choose from either a Fujitsu LifeBook S2110 which is 2-3 years old or a netbook from the hundreds collage just bought.
But if i take the extra weight of the S2110 over the weight of the netbook. I mean 1080p...

Well the new Zii processor from Creative is quite different from what was rumored and what i hoped for. But it is quite brilliant never the less. "Check out zii.com for an intro into what zii is.

Right now i am running a P3 @ 9xx Mhz as the wifi server for my house with extensions. I was given a choice by my friend who wants to exchange it with his old Athlon thunderbird 1Ghz.
I have never used a Athlon thunderbird and was into only Intel chips at that time. I do know the technical...
So you all know the huge Microsoft's netbook restrictions well this was on force since last year and a huge thing is that AMD's cheap UMPC is a better overall platform than the NETBOOK platform.
Microsoft seems like a life partner to intel due to their actions on Vista ready Mb's. So i am not...
i5 from Intel seems quite good but is a broken derivative if the i7 and the different socket totally kills the idea of going from i5 to i7. but with support for DDR3 at least i would be able to change that in between platforms.
Here are some i5 tests :-...
Had the i7 920 running at 3.6 Ghz since the 120 ultra arrived and since my friend wants his 2 penny's for the cooler i was thinking to try and push it to 4Ghz theis is how the story went...

If this is true i will upgrade from q6600 to PhII asa i have money
Edit:- After i went through the whole review it seems that it can actually kill the i7 in some game and stay almost equal in others.
Also since the i7 is at a 3Ghz...

Need a native heat sink for the i7 920 and not those C2C to i7 converted heat sinks. But it has to be lighter than Thermalright Ultra and not very expensive!!!
Also if anyone has a i7 920@ 3.5Ghz can you pls report your temp. both environmental and processor...!! Thanks
Kkkkk from the ocworkbench pic you can see that the 3D MARK vantage scores 10,075 on CPU and when my friend bought the Core i7 whole kit and all we tested it via 3D MARK and his i7 with 6GB DDR "ultra expensive memory" and a bit cheaper motherboard scored 11,1xx on the CPU.
You know what...
So, the AMD's new platform is something else then what i had initially taught. But the fact of the matter is that Atom processers are quite under powered and to pair them up with GMA 500 totally kills game options and 3D as genral but great for movies....
AMD's thing may have a 2100...
My friend has a laptop "ASUS A8SC-X3"
After a deep search i found that 8400M G has 8 unified Pipelinesand the T5550 has 1.8ghz of power which would encode a h.264 file faster... ???
Well since Deneb is coming after quite a while i just wanted to see what the intel camp can offer for my budget???
My plan that formulated after a look at the benchmarks was that i can get a decent bump in video encoding speeds and along with that the added performance is not bad at all over...
I am not satisfied with my M1330 at all it came home with a non working usb port and got it replaced this is just very childish on dell's part. Thus, i have asked for a refund and sent the M1330 back for return. After a dozen emails i am sure will get the payment back in around a week.

Even as i wait for my new laptop to return to me from repairs "video card", i was approached by a friend who apparently liked the little ah heck "m1330" and wishes to trade a pimped up ALIENWARE M5790 SE "Yes the special edition, if it was a m5550 i would have so said no"
All is good in...
Intel is quite a clever company...
See Intel uses LGA1366 for high end next gen processor's and LGA1160 for Mid and low end processor's. Now if suppose you want to go from mid end to high end you have to change you M/B and processor if not the RAM, etc.
Price wise going from P55 to X58...
