Anything even at about --alt-preset-standard (200 or so kbps) is impossible for most people to distinguish from the original source CD on anything but high-end stereo equipment in a closed environment... no one in their right mind really needs anything over 160 kbps for the gym (ambient noise...
http://reviews.cnet.com/Prince...5-3174_7-30794424.html
The good: Inexpensive; embedded speakers; analog and DVI inputs (both cables included).
The bad: Extremely poor contrast; poor overall image quality; limited adjustability.
The bottom line: The Princeton LCD19D is inexpensive for a...
what's the response time? also, there are no reviews out there for this... but it's made by Proview... any ideas what it's equivalent proview model number is?
i've just checked a few reviews on the camera. seems to be a pretty mediocre performer (and it's a rebranded Toshiba PDR-5300, if you're curious). Of course you won't do much better for $100... it'll probably make a fine starter camera or one for the kids to mess around with, but as this would...
hm... all the links to the camera on the website seem not to be working right now...
that's a shame. If anyone can get a working link to that, please post it.
last i checked Delta Shuttle stopped offering student fares at least a year ago. At least, that's what I was told when I tried to buy a new book of student tickets last year.
Better deal NY to Boston - chinatown bus, $10, hourly departures most of the day. takes not much longer than getting to...
i've heard that there are often problems with specTek RAM, and that the return rate was so high newegg stopped carrying it. That said, i've been running 2 sticks of 256MB specTek PC2700 at speed, dual channel in a computer that's on 24/7 for a week now with no problems, so who knows.
It...
it looks like the Uniden Access Point for $2.99 at outpost.com is dead - no longer listed at their site anywhere. But there is still a $19.99 AR deal on the uniden wifi router/PCMCIA card package.
yeah, the card is for notebooks, or desktops with PCMCIA slots (few and far between, but for example some SFF VIA PCs have them rather than PCI slots).
normally, i'm not one to ebay around... but i want the router, so i suppose i'll just sell the PCMCIA card. it'll probably cover most of the...
i'ver heard syntax is ok... and these are using the latest Intersil Prism 3.0 chipsets, which is surprising. now all i need are a free AR wireless AP and i will have reduced my HTPC's cable clutter for free :) - well, except that handling fee, i suppose.
um... sorry if this is stupid, but what can you do with the TV-Out header? i'm not seeing any cables on newegg or on biostar's site that actually connect to the tvout header (although it is mentioned as optional on biostar's site, no link or product appears). Where can you get a cable for that...
All i've heard are people saying they take it with to the gym and such without any problems. No complaints that i've heard.
Oh and austonia, the rebate for $50: went through my history folder, apparently the pdf's still online where it was, here. they just took the link to it down.
heheh thank god for buy.com not working on Eastern time zone... got mine before the deals went bad... i think i'm gonna put my pocketPC's 1 gb memory card on ebay now, seeing as to i just use it for mp3s, and the card sells for more than the nitrus does :).
damn.. i paid a lot more for these speakers like a year ago. they're really, really nice for a 2.1 setup; they're a deal at 2x the price. Not really audiophile material, as they don't crank out quite enough clean watts, but the sound really nice at quiet to moderate sound levels, with smooth...
price chop at buy.com... now $61.69-50 MIR = $11.69... think i'm gonna get me one just to play mp3s off my pocket PC's memory card while i sit in the living room; can't really go wrong for $12. I've read other (more nice) reviews of it; assuming you don't have the Lexar MS issue, and aren't...
Now it's cheaper to just buy from amazon since you can get the free $50 GC when you spend over $250. Deal is now officially dead, i suppose. Nice while it lasted.
So it's a 2.1 MP camera. Interpolated resolution doesn't count; interpolation does nothing Photoshop could not. Theoretically then, my 2 MP camera is 14 Megapixel Interpolated Resolution with photoshop's help. Doesn't make the photos look much better though :). So it's $130 for a 2 MP non-zoom...
Where? I'm not seeing anyone online showing a price under $350, and they all charge tax and/or shipping over the unit price... anyways, if i can't get the price i want here i can always sell it to my neighbor at cost; he's looking for a new PPC anyways.
did anyone else have HP screw up and send them TWO 2210s by accident? They did that to me (and yes, they billed me for both...). Really weird. Wish they'd get their act together.
Guess i'll put it up in the For Sale forum, rather than deal with HPs "customer support" (if you can call it that)...
Do you mean a wireless card or a wired LAN card? Wireless PCMCIA cards can be found for dirt cheap; even Compact Flash ones can be as low as $30-$40 these days (mobileplanet has a d-link CF 802.11b card for $40 AMIR). A wired LAN card for a PDA is probably not worth it... when you can get a wifi...
It's a decent price (despite their $7 shipping and so-so ratings among customers). Not as good as the $30 SMC CF card last week AR from CompUSA, but I missed that one. This is actually the best price out there right now, i believe, for a CF wi-fi card confirmed to work with the new batch of...
From what I understand, the connector itself is the same, so all cables and such should work. However, the bottom of the unit is flat. not rounded like the 3900, so many peripherals such as keyboards and cradles that line up with the contours of the 3900 won't fit the 2210 (although many things...
Nah that's just someone talking outta their arsehole, laddie.
The reason people thought that is that it doesn't list the cradle under the 2210s specs on hp's site so they assumed it wasn't there (i don't know if it's listed with the 2215 either). They really are the same unit, with the exact...
actually, i didn't get charged tax and I live in NY which has HUGE sales tax. I think if you use a higher ed contract you qualify as tax-exempt as a nonprofit, maybe? I could be wrong though.
Hey- they billed me twice too, the second time for some reason even after my first one had shipped already. They oughta get their act together. I think i'll sell this second one to my brother when it arrives - he wants one bad now that he's seen mine :). Or i could fleabay it for a good $100...
Not to mention the 128 MB limit on SmartMedia cards, and that they're bigger than SD cards -> bigger reader. You can get the SanDisk Cruzer SD thumb-type drive if you need that kind of swappable storage - otherwise the Lexar JumpDrives are probably better for your money (i have a 128 MB one...
link to ecost
Cheap shipping if you get an order over $50, (they still charge a few bucks handling - no big deal). Personally I added the Sandisk 256MB SD card which is $49.99 AR - good price, but it is known to mess up in Dell Axims and Toshiba pocketPCs, so avoid the sandisk SD card if you...
That's not a bad deal, if you don't qualify for the educational discount. I would almost have considered jumping on the deal myself, even though >300 on a PPC is out of my price range. Luckily I have a 2210 (which is the same unit as the 2215) supposedly shipping tomorrow for $267 total, so I...
the MHEC just lets you purchase for that specific contract - even if your school is in the MHEC, you still qualify minimum for the national educational discount, and possibly for other contracts as well. Although the MHEC price was the lower price. However, most of the time you'll save more...
heheh man, fleabay it... no one in their right mind would shell out for the 1910 when it's not upgradeable to PPC 2003 and the 1940's about to be released. Of course there's always a sucker on eBay who's not in their right mind ;-)
like i said in my original post, you'll have to search around to figure out if your school qualifies for a given contract. For example, i searched for "Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium members" and quickly found a list of member schools.
Of course, i ordered last night and they still...
I've been using Mozilla's Firebird for a while now - it blocks popups automatically, and has easy plugins you can add to block banner ads, which works reasonably well when you tell it what to block (except for when they hide the image inside some php - blah). I think it's great for people still...
