Try using only one stick of ram in the orange slot nearest to the edge of the board. Also make sure all four power connectors are hooked up. My board was
also very picky about the ram with the old bios, wouldn't boot at all with my
TCCD.
With my Mushkin 4400 ram my board wouldn't evan boot into windows.
After setting the ram up with the settings at DFI-Street forums I'm running
9x285 with the ram running 1:1. I did need to put a fan on the ram due
to the close placement of the cpu heatsink. Is that TCCD ram? I could
post...
I use a Hydor L30 pump in my water cooled system and its vey quite. Can't hear it at all over
the case fans evan with my fan controller turned all the way down.
That score seems low to me.
I scored 18394 with a Athlon moble 2500+ @ 2550 and my 9800 Pro
at 400 core and 350 memory.
I would try locating a driver removal tool and reinstalling your video
driver if you havn't done that yet.
vortex- I do use the 1016 bios and ran vcore at 1.8V with my desktop
barton at 2200mhz on my a7v333. That was with water cooling. My
desktop barton was an unlocked week 3-30 and never overclocked
very well. My old t-bred 2100 would run at 2340mhz stable at the same
vcore and also would let me...
The a7v333 will run a desktop barton without a problem if the bios is
updated to the latest version. I ran mine this way (ver 1.04) for 6 months (12.5x176) for 2200 mhz. Check out the Asus forums at AMDMB.com if you have doubts.
If the desktop bartons work then mobile bartons should be fine...
If I remember correctly nForce 2 boards don't provide CPU internal
diode temps.
Try running AIDA32. It does a good job of labeling which temp is which.
My week 7 mobile 2500+ is prime stable at 2600MHz (13x200) at 1.8v.
It may have a little more speed left but not to sure about raising v-core.
Finally got a good overclocker !!
Just received the following from Newegg.
Abit NF7-S
Moble Barton 2500+ (IQYHA 0407)
Buffalo PC3200 2x256
Tested with stock AMD heatsink (from retail Barton 2500)
Ran 2.46ghz (12x205) at 1.7V had 55C load temp.
Ran 18 hours prime95 stable with no errors.
Going to install it in my main rig with...
Just purchased a Barton 2500+moble from newegg (IQYHA 0407) and been running prime95 stable at 2465MHZ on a Abit NF7-S for the last 8 hours with a stock AMD heatsink at 1.7V.
Going to put it in my water cooled case soon to see what it can really do!
Can't see how you can go wrong with these...
I also have the Microtek 18 inch LCD but reverted back to my old KDS 19 inch (Trinitron) CRT due to ghosting.
I must say for everything but gaming the LCD is much better.
If you could stretch your budget just a little then Newegg has the Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro for $214.
If you can wait a while there may be better buys this spring when the new round of video cards come out.
Your KX7-333 uses the Via KT333 chipset which has no 1/6 divider so your AGP & PCI will be running way out of spec and hard drive corruption may happen at high FSB.
My kt333 board the Asus A7V333 won't run stable above 184FSB and won't post above 192FSB.
If your Barton is locked this could...
Picked up 9800 np today at cc
Sumsung 2.8 @ 405/355 with no artifacts
What would be the advantage of flashing to 9800 Pro over just overclocking the 9800 np ?
I have been overclocking with the A7V-333 for a while now.
With the Barton 2500+ only the low mult are available (12.5x and below)
My 2500+ is running at 11.5x180=2070mhz
Used to run T-Bred 2100+ and it had all the high mult available (13x and up)
My board wont run stable above 185fsb.
