No, there is no AGP part, but that's why I'm asking WHY anyone would want to lock themselves into another AGP purchase. There's a PCIe mobo to fit any budget and that opens up a wealth of better/cheaper card options. How can it not make sense to move on?
I'm still running a x800xl quite happily but when the x1800xl is only $20 more that this (after a rebate) isn't it a bit crazy to spend this much on a yestertech vid card?
I bought this from Fry's when it was on sale for $399 but it was hard to find a silver one. It seems to go on sale about every 2 months so it's due to run again soon. Sound wise this system is every bit as good as any $1000+ system I've heard. The speaker cabinets are kind of cheap particle...
You should give a $ amount to work with. Do you have a case, drives and all the rest of the parts? It really doesn't pay to buy parts that you can't use yet. In 2 months that vid card dropped over $50. Any opty 144 and higher with a 939 board from DFI, Asus, MSI all will get you going.
Umm, I got one of these running next to me and the temps run straight up to 90C as soon as it starts to do any work. Not OC either. Cheap price though. I thought I stole it for $200 a year ago.
I re-read your post a few times and I think you're saying the P4 2.4 is roughly the same as the 175. The clock speeds aren't comparable. A stock 175 is roughly equal to a P4 4.4ghz.
Anybody want to see if it stacks with Amex wish certs?
I have a set of Logitech 5500's in my cart and the price has not changed. It's still $219. Waiting for the Nanos to come back as an Amazon product before I can close it out.
I was really excited when we installed a 6meg cable connection at my office. In the end, I expected more. From an individual user standpoint it doesn't do anything faster than my 2.5 meg at home. We needed the bandwidth to support our number of simultaneous users but just about every server...
Man that was over quick. I bought last night but I was telling my friends about it this morning now the're all pissed at me cuz they missed it. Congrats to those that got in!
I had trouble with the extra $5 also. My DPA codes had a lower case 'r' at the end that was not supposed to be there. I called to put the order thru by phone but got nothing but 'the best I can give you is $20 off because your code is invalid.'(offshore call center voice optional)
I had to...
2.8 is a Pentium 4 for sure. What does he do on his PC? If he just uses the web and office apps he probably wouldn't notice much of a speed bump from a processor alone. More memory would probably have more of an impact.
It is/was called 'Slot 1'.
The oldest I have is my Atari 800 that I bought back in high school for $500 instead of buying a car. Still works too. I just threw out a whole fleet of 286, 386, 486 machines that had been building up in my garage. 2meg 30 pin SIMMs anyone?
Does AMD use the same retail fan/heatsink for A64 and Opterons? I have a 3200 winchester already and I'm thinking about ordering the OEM version of the 165.
What kind of setup do you have?
My MSI Neo4 likes to hang up once in a while also. The BIOS starts but never makes it to the memory test. This happens maybe once in 5 reboots. A reset cures it and it has never done it twice in a row so I don't worry about it.
It used to be 'buy a phone, get a movie ticket' now its vice versa. My how times change.
I wont take any phone with a 2 year contract anymore. There are plenty of 1 year deals around. Every phone I ever had developed some kind of problem in the second year. Once you factor in the cost of...
Burgers for the IT capital of the world! In their own backyard no less! The mind boggles.
Maybe they didn't want to appear like they could afford better lest their biggest customers start asking for better discounts.
Only a very lucky few got anything free. Everyone paid for their bundle and AMD even made a very nice profit. If AMD intended to connect with the "real" system builders they could have saved themselves a lot of money and taken all 25 of them on a trip to the Bahamas. Their dog and pony show...
Averox- your system will run with a 20 pin power plug but the missing pins are to supply power to the video card only. Under full demand conditions the voltage to your card could be low. Cards with a power plug on board are not affected but your x800 gets its power from the slot. I would get...
Don't buy something based on the love for the styling for a first bike. You will damage it in the learning process. As you can see there is no shortage of opinion on the best first bike. The irony is after your first 3 or 4 motorcyles you will know what the best first bike for YOU would be...
I can vouch for the Suzuki SV650. It's a very torquey twin cylinder engine with great handling chassis. Cheap too. A Lot of club racers are using them for race bikes.
It's a very forgiving starter bike that you wont outgrow as you develop your skills.
I would avoid any bike with lower...
