I have this exactly same issue with the temps too, and the same results as aiwa138 with the beta HW Monitor.... Thanks for the link Lidya, I will look into the workarounds. The strange thing is that it works perfect at default... Do you know how X2C solved his 3d crashes?

I have this same problem (Temps not right), and also some overclocking issues. I am using the latest, 1.4, BIOS. My main overclocking issue is that 3D applications crash, giving me that nv4_disp driver crash. If I run at default, no overclock, everything runs fine. As soon as I overclock...

Enermax rocks :) . You can also look into PC Power and Cooling, Thermaltake is also not bad. Just make sure is not a crappy brand like POWMAX and others.

    Soltek K8TPro-939 problems

If you are not putting load to the CPU, Cool'n'Quiet throttles down the clock speed in order to consume less power and be cooler. If you put load in it, the clock speed will increase accordingly, until it reaches the maxium values as you have specified in the BIOS, theoretically it should NOT...

Me also ordered this card, it comes next week :) The MSI card reviews in the 6600GT Anandtech Shootout is the PCI-E version which has a different type of cooling than the MSI 6600GT AGP version judging from the pictures.

Thanks Skyofanten, that's what I wanted to hear, I can sleep well now. :) I would do some more overclocking, but I need to wait until I get valid temps, and good memory, and go foward from there. For now, it is all good, and I got moderate overclocking. Thanks :)

Damn, I am reaching 66 C with SpeedFan and 69 C with Solken Monitor. Arctic Silver hasn't done nothing yet :( . I hope this CPU does not melts down...

It is enabled by default. Go to "Frequence/Voltage Control" and check that "PCI Clock Auto Detection" and "Async AGP/PCI clock" are enabled. One if this is the PCI/AGP Lock, I guess it will be the Async AGP/PCI clock, but it does not hurt to enable the otherone also.

I reapplied AS5, this time less paste, and now I am getting lower temps, not too much of a difference from the stock paste, but I guess is good now. I might try some more overclocking if time lets me...

Yeah, I like my enermax bery much, stable rails, and around 30 amps in the 12volt rail that would nicely run a High-End graphics card and all,. Enermax also has very nice reviews and the price is also very good. I recommend it to you. To measure the temps I am using "SpeedFan". Talking about...

I am at 250 with PC2700, BUT running with the divider (setting the ram speed to 133 so the with the overclock I get about 163). ;) Tonight I will be aplying the arctic silver 5 to see if this thing cools down and I can overclock some more, if I stably reach 265 I break the stable record, right ...

I dont think it would be drivers/color depth issue, since I get the same performance under Linux and Windows using the same game. Eventough, I tried reinstaling the drivers and setting the Color Depth to 16, the lower available from 32, and still get the same results. I suspect it has to...

I dont know what happened to me but it seems that something around the AGP/Graphics system broke. When I put everything together and reinstalled Windows I was getting around 40+ FPS in Doom3, every game ran smoothly and fast. Now I was benchmarking again, doing some test between Linux (Gentoo...

I am using the heatsink+fan that came in the RETAIL box, is not the best heatsink as you know. I am now running 250, so far stable, but have to run Prime95 stress to make sure. With load, at 250 it was hitting 63c, but I added 3 case fans and now it is hitting 58c, I might have to play...

I went to pick up my board over the weekend, installed it, performance was very nice after a BIOS upgrade and Windows reinstall. I have yet to install Gentoo Linux for AMD64, or Ubuntu(AMD64) and do some tests there see how it behaves in that front. Right now I have been overclocking my...

I did not had a good experience with the last VIA chipset motherboard I used. It was a EPOX using KT266, it did not left a good taste. When I switched my current Nforce 2 Soltek board was like heaven, and has been ever since. It will be a really good experience if VIA got it right this time...

I also wait for this board to arrive. I currently have a Soltek SL-75FRN2-L, and it all good, really nice motherboard, except for some cold booot problems I had while overclocking before. I hope this board gives me no problems, as it should if Soltek has been keeping up their quality which I...
