    Liquid Cooling CPU & GPU's

triple rad is good especially with two GPU's iwaki pump or alternatively two aquaextreme 50Z's in series the swiftech rad is cheap and pretty good but for balls to the wall cooling I would get a thermochill PA120.3 links xtremesystems check the stickies

    P160 Watercooling Project! *UPDATED* 19 Mar 06

I can't here my D5 over my case fans even on the highest setting are you hearing the pump or is it resonating through the case I used vibration damping mounts (page 1250 from www.mcmaster.com) which may work better than your pad

    Watercooling

the only kits worth buying are the swiftech ones.................. all of those are poor at best I would recommend you read a couple of WC forums stickies start with xtreme and extreme overclocking and then decide what is best for you from an informed position I would rather have...

    need help with watercooling

they don't have to blow air out, it is more important to have nice cool room air for your rad many people, myself included draw air into their case through the rad mine is mounted on the floor of my case (LL V2000) drawing air in the air from the rad is not warm enough to cause any...

    need help with watercooling

someone else will probably chime in and say how great their budget kit is, but, IMHO you either go with a good WC setup (which includes the swiftech kits BTW) or just get top notch air cooling. the PITA:benefit factor isn't there for budget WC when a TT big typhoon is as good as some of those...

    Opty 170 and Ram issue

sli-D and sli-DR are pretty much the same except the extra 4 SATA ports the expert has better 4-phase power regulation but is a little harder to set-up and hasn't been around quite as long

    Water and Northbridge

scatter, start over, for your needs you need a higher end custom WC setup e-bay is for selling stuff (i wanted to say $hit) like the big water keep it simple, one good rad is good enough, get either a heatercore (cheap) or a 120X2 or 120X3 rad, a good pump, and a new CPU block return...

    Opty 170 and Ram issue

have you read the O/C guide at DFI-STREET.COM???? there is also a section for O/C database where people post there settings, always a good start you need to decide whether you are going with 2X512Mb or 2X1Gb, I would stay away from 4X512Mb setups if you want to O/C

I.... I... think I am gonna try watercooling.. help please

well not exactly if you are using a LOW resistance setup like a MCW6000, then yes flow rates are not that important but for a block like the STORM, which is a restrictive block, 1/2" system is going to give better flow that is why the swiftech APEX ULTRA kits are 1/2" barbed (with 7/16"...

    WaterCooling Setup

different experience for me with WC very quiet and I don't touch it for six months at a time at which I will drain it and refill.............. check out the stickies at Xtremesystems for advice the swiftech block you mention is OK but very old, it would work OK with the pumps provided...

    Water Pumps: Quiet ones?

Just installed Thermaltake Big Water SE

not bad Matt, but you just noted the biggest problem with budget WC with a good WC setup you can cool CPU and GPU(S) with quiet 120mm fans on a 120X2 or 120X3 rad and not have to deal with noise, installing a custom kit is harder than on your setup, requiring cutting etc. BUT the...

    cpu water blocks

STORM is the best WB currently IMHO but it requires a good pump with high head pressure and it may be hard to find at the moment the TDX/RBX are good as well, especially with the alternate plates the MP-05 are a good storm alternative (cooltechnica.com) if you have trouble finding a...

    Watercooling question

I may sound like a broken record but I always recommend people new to water-cooling go read the stickies at xtremesystems and at extremeoverclocking as they have a beakdown of all parts currently available and prices etc.

Watercooling + LAN machine + Lian Li mid tower= help, advice needed

if you must change the chipset cooler try one of the Evercool VC-RE it is quiter than stock and copper WC the chipset would be the lowest of my priorities for a portable unit I would definetely NOT use a reservoir why not try one of the newer V1000 cases? the rad would fit quite nicely...

    Water Cooling Q's

I still run mixed metals storm/polarfloTT I use Zerex Racing Super Coolant 10-15% with distilled H2O, refill every 6-8 months, works very well.

    DFI Expert noise level?

you can aslo control the chipset fan in smartguardian and thus lower RPM (as far as I know in the same way as on the "regular" NF4) most tinkerers will take off the heatsink and use some AS5 and put it back on (good for a few degrees)

ive had a wc setup sitting since about february of this year, water need changing?

you should be fine anywhere from 6 months to a year if you have aluminum in your loop then I would change the fluid more often to prevent galvanic corrosion

Opteron Dual Core: Voltage and Temps, limits of...

one thing to be careful of on the NF4 DFI boards (not expert) is overvolting on dual cores my results dual core 175 Bios 1.35 X 110% CPUZ 1.424 idle DMM 1.493 dual p95 DMM 1.524 so if one is too assume that safe voltage to be 1.6V or...

    Water Cooling Temperature Challenge.

firstly, nice O/C on that 165 my 175 idles @ 28C load 33C with the IHS off, the IHS removal made about a 5C difference I also have a GPU in the loop although I realy like my H2O setup, I would take really good air cooling over the Big Water as its not worth the risk of component damage...

    Northbridge Water cooling ?

can you be a little more vague? what mobo are you planning to use, what WC stuff do you have already? on the NF4, you would WC the chipset for silent computing it does not do anything for O/C for DFI NF4 a little AS5 on the stock cooler or switching to an evercool or vantec cooler is...

    Questions about water cooling...

a split loop can work BUT if your cpu loop is more restrictive guess where most of the flow will go...........to your other loop try running everything in series and if that doesn't give you the temps you want get a small second pump for a second loop BTW the PA 160 is a really nice...

How to "unlid" your athlon 64

I ran a "naked" T-bird for years.................. True, if you are all thumbs then don't take off the IHS BUT for me it was a 15 minute very easy safe mod and since I am watercooled I don't have to worry about crushing my core with a huge heavy HS. The caviat/disclaimer is this...

Edited: My future watercooling setup.. How does this look?

WHY 3/8"???????????????????????????????????????? stick with 1/2" fittings and if you want easier routing for tubing get some 7/16" tubing and just stretch it over the 1/2" barbs
